this is interesting. NOAA loosened their restrictions on commercial satellite imagery (which I didn't realize they were responsible for restricting) and apparently UMBRA has already released an 0.16m/pixel (around 6 inches/pixel) image

so far as I've found the 16cm image is just JPEGed into press releases but the 25cm imagery is the real deal with some kind of metadata that seems GIS-oriented
