he was a bit odd. He drove a black pickup truck with pink flames on it. He even kept a photo of his truck in his wallet. But he was otherwise a jock/redneck in every way.
just do them one at a time. 1. steal office furniture from your boss's office. 2. dd if=/dev/random of=/home/kitfox/test.dat bs=1024 count=1024. 3. don't bother, nobody will read them.
WB Mason or Creative Office Pavilion are my options, according to the woman who orders the stuff but has demonstrated repeatedly in the past that she doesn't know her ass from her elbow.
I am debating calling Purchasing to see if Rick still works there. He's probably retired by now though.
Rick would have talked me through it back in the day.
My school is trying to "cut down on paper" and yet the man who has been here in my real maths teacher's stead for the last month has given us several hundred pieces of paper each.
haha, oops. I felt like also posting a photo of my desk and while checking for private papers I didn't want to share I found a tax bill that needs paying.
so I've cleaned my desk and filed all my papers and even stuck that alarm company sticker on the window, so now my desk is clear again. yay! What? work? my job? oh yeah.
I have noticed that there are some phrases which are typically found used with the Present Simple while it is not impossible to use them with the Present Continuous. And I am talking about such instances when the action is occurring at the moment of speaking ONLY.

@Mr.ShinyandNew安宇 How is this different from my "the relative should not have done what she did"? That is not my point. My point is that all the drama later makes something into a problem that wasn't one before. You make people feel tainted. Harsh as it may sound, there is some connection to the way raped girls are cast out by their communities: you create an aura of taboo around someone, make her feel bad and weird. That should only be done if there is no other option. Don't you agree?
@Cerberus Let's say you are an innocent child, and a man walks up to you and smiles at you, then takes all your candy, but makes you laugh as he walks away with it. Years later someone explains to you that you were robbed. Shouldn't you feel bad that you were robbed, now that you're old enough to understand it?
And I don't think this is comparable to casting out rape victims. That is victim blaming and is a totally different problem.
In this case, a child was "raped" (scare quotes because it was "consensual", i.e. she thought she wanted it). So let's call it statutory rape. Should statutory rape not be a crime?
Explaining to someone that what they thought was okay is not actually okay is not a bad thing IMO.
@Mr.ShinyandNew安宇 How does it help me to "realise" that I was robbed? What good does it do? There would have to be some good, or else it isn't worth the ordeal this girl is going through now for feeling she's "taboo" and being harassed by her boyfriend, who thinks she has a "problem".
@Mr.ShinyandNew安宇 It's different, of course. But isn't there some similarity? In both cases, you cast a shadow of abnormality on someone, and you tell her she has a problem. You make her feel bad.
@Cerberus 1. She DOES have a problem. 2. I think there is intrinsic benefit in knowing when people are doing bad things to you. 3. she should not feel taboo. That is a separate problem. 4. Her denial of this problem can legitimately be considered a problem.
@Cerberus sometimes people need to feel bad about bad things.
@Mr.ShinyandNew安宇 "Should statutory rape not be a crime?" Why do you keep talking about this? I've already said twice that the older woman was in the wrong. That's not the point. The point is, how do you deal with it?, and I was talking about the way the boyfriend dealt with it in this particular situation.
@Mr.ShinyandNew安宇 Why is it a problem? Why aren't you just creating or at least magnifying the problem?
OK, how about this example. As a girl, your neighbor helped you kill a toddler and hide the body. Your neighbor told you this was fine and you didn't know the kid so you didn't feel bad about it. Now as an adult, your boyfriend is freaked out 1. that you committed murder and 2. you think it isn't really any big deal.
@KitFox Yeah, that would be terrible. But consider this.
What's the harm done in your example? The toddler was killed. Is this harm in some way subjective? Could you say that perhaps it was only terrible if someone experienced or experiences it as such, and that in this case it seems likely nobody involved feels that way? A person died. His or her parents were severely traumatised and hurt. That's at least two parties of which we can have 99.9 % certainty that they did in fact experience great harm from the deed.
The second question: should the past be left alone, because it has already happened? You could say, real harm was done, so the perpetrator(s) should be punished: that would be reason enough to do something.
Or you could say: the fact that the girl felt it was OK to kill a toddler when she was 3 is perhaps remotely understandable if pressured by an adult; however, the fact that she still thinks it is no big deal to cause great harm to people is seriously concerning either way.
But that there was great and unmistakable harm is the central fact around which this entire situation revolves. If the toddler was not killed but merely, say, made to steal € 10 from his parents, the entire problem becomes much less serious. Then it might not be worth exploring the issue years later.
So is "my older relative touched me and I liked it then, and I don't think it is a problem now" comparable to "I was killed and my parents traumatised"?
It's circular reasoning: it is a problem because it has seriously harmed the girl, and, if she doesn't think she was harmed, then her lack of understanding constitutes harm.
