I don't have a problem with not sleeping when I'm not tired. I have a problem with not sleeping when I am.
Often I'm so awfully tired, but I still don't go to bed, just waste hour upon hour doing absolutely nothing, and then the sun comes out and then I'm like okay whatever now I must have breakfast and check the morning news.
And this happens all the time, has been happening for decades. So with midnight sun, I literally know for a fact I wouldn't go to bed for three days straight, and then pretty much drop dead.
It's really this whole conscious process of disconnecting yourself from the world that sucks. If going to bed was just flipping a switch and be asleep, that'd be progress.
@RegDwighт And I'd like to add a clause saying that you can't be woken up for no particular reason and be all awake long before your alarm clock goes off.
There must also be a law that I'm allowed to play any musical instrument at any time of the day. But only me. Others should shut it. Preferrably at all times as well.
I just played several songs from Chicago on my bayan. I guess that's not quite what anybody envisioned. And @robusto will just groan in complete despair.
It's not exactly soundunproof here. I did play the bayan last night, and I will often play some guitar. I just ease up on the piano, and the same would likely go for flute, violin, or percussion.
Anyway. Which is why I poked Rob. I think he likes using accordion in the same sentence as torture, and as far as Chicago goes, he, um, didn't quite like the movie all too much.
