which one is correct?

- Beyond the borders of Fanhood

I dunno, is their?
Also, maybe ask a question as a question, not as an answer.
I guess they have to remake everything every 25 years or so, so there's one from last year as well.

@MattE.Эллен how much for an average elected mod?

From Samuel Andreev's most recent Q&A:
> "Steven empolyed" asks:
I'm from a small country in europe and I would like to be in contact with contemporary music, but there is very little space for that music around here,so I was wondering if there are any places online where one can get to know works by "new" composers? thanks!
He posted that question as a comment on YouTube.
Mr Steven Empolyed is asking on YouTube if there are any places online where one can listen to contemporary music.

Good question.
None comes to mind.

I wonder if he goes to pubs and supermarkets to ask people if they know anyone in town who sells beverages.

Perhaps it is like asking the time.
People just looking for conversations.
Steam has this.

It's not a conversation, it's a question submitted for a Q&A, to be answered by a rather busy and very knowledgeable person.

Of course I clicked on View Example Products.

9:13 PM
I don't know what this Steam thing is.
People looking for porn on Steam is like people looking for bread on Pornhub.

Well, apparently, there is plenty.

You will find lots alright. But what the fuck is wrong with you.

What I found interesting, besides how ridiculous all of these games are, is that all had nude girls except one.
You can guess which one.

I don't believe any of them had nude girls. I believe all of them had poorly drawn anime caricatures of things an alien might think look somewhat similar to girls.

Sure.
So all of those games aim at men. Not a single one is aiming at straight women, arguably the largest group of people in the Western market.
Why not?

9:16 PM
In which case why don't you just go and draw poor caticatures yourself and jerk off to that.

Woooo?

Hello.
Doo!

Ach soooo...
@Cerberus Steam is not aimed at girls.
Again, women are not dumb. When they want porn, they go to porn sites.

Still, there should be enough girls on there.
Arguably more than gays.

9:19 PM
There aren't even enough blokes on there to make games profitable.
Like, 97% of all games there make less than $5. And not a month. Ever.
And you want to put a niche game on there that is targeted at 0.01% of their audience?
People won't even see it.
It will get buried after five minutes.

Still, people make those games and put them on Steam.

Well. I refer you to my first comment of today for an explanation.
Executive summary: of course people are. Because people are idiots.
Anyway. Is a "Gay Farming Game" about gays farming, or about farming gays?
Damn this English language with its ambiguity.

Apparently, the former.
It's probably just as silly as other dating sims.

Meh. That is gay.

Quite.

9:24 PM
Gays don't need dating sims because unlike straights, gays actually date IRL.
Straights, meanwhile, sit on Steam.
And wonder why nobody will love them.

Hah, hardly.
I'm sure Steam is chock-full of non-dating gays.

What you say is true, but you cite no references and you add nothing that others have not already stated years ago. — Robusto 15 secs ago
@RegDwigнt Well, depends on your definition of a date.
Dec 9 '13 at 21:02, by Robusto
Q. What does a lesbian bring to the second date?
A. A U-haul.

Q. What does a gay man bring to the second date?
A. What second date?

@Robusto my definition of a date is "not gay".

@RegDwigнt Thanks for defining that so precisely for us.

You are welcome. I am here to help.
Had to look up U-haul.

9:29 PM
I figured.

I suspect straight men would have just as many one-night stands as gay men, if they could.

@Robusto Well, look up "not gay", then. Quid pro quo.

@RegDwigнt I refused to, but I suspected it was a kind moving-van or company.

@Cerberus Yes, if only the energy flow were not blocked as it is.

Energy flow?

9:30 PM
@Cerberus it's a moving van but it's not kind.

Are you a Buddhist now?
@RegDwigнt What has it done to you?

I prefer not to speak of it.
I can show you on a handpuppet.

@Cerberus Men's energy flows toward doing it, women's toward resisting it, at least differentially. For gay men there is no governor on that throttle.

@RegDwigнt That's a lovely genre.

Except for Rudy Giuliani.

9:31 PM
@Robusto Yes, I suspect it is so.

Q&A continues
> "Bar ney" asks:
Do you believe a deep background and understanding of music composition and theory is a requirement for creating a musical masterpiece?

@Cerberus Oh, I know it is so. I visited a gay friend in San Francisco a few years ago, and one of his roommates mentioned having 11 liaisons with 11 different partners the previous night. My own personal best is one. And I had to work for that one.

I don't know, Bar ney. Do you believe a deep background and understanding of Japanese syntax and semantics is a requirement for creating a poem in Japanese?
Do you believe discovering the greatest math theorem of all time might be helped by formally studying maths?

Nevah.

I would agree. But let's see what Samuel says.
Apparently he diplomatically disagrees with you and I.

9:36 PM
@RegDwigнt Perhaps not in aleatoric composition.

People who ask such questions have never heard the word "aleatoric", and never will.

I'm trying to be understanding here.

They probably struggle with recognizing and remembering the word "car".

Or "bar" ...
As in "bar of music" ...

Whoa slow down. One word at a time.
What is "music"?

9:38 PM
@Robusto Well, that is hardly typical...
But, sure.

Actually, there's still 12 minutes left on the clock left and I kind of fear that one of the next questions might be just that. "What is music? Where can I look up what means 'music'????"

So there is cultural pressure on girls not to seek casual sex.
But is suspect there is more to it.

@Cerberus that's an old wife's tale.
Especially around the parts you live in.

Oh?

The year's 2019. Not 1290.

9:40 PM
@Cerberus Well, it's more than cultural. It's genetic. And just good sense, I suspect. It's not just a feel-good moment they're after. Six seconds of pleasure ... doesn't maybe bring enough to the table?
OK, gotta take the cat to the vet. Laterz all.

> "magicwheel" asks:
what is your advice for an isolated self-taught composer on getting his first piece performed?
Stop being isolated, for starters. Then stop being self-taught.
Duh.
@Robusto CYA
@Robusto to be fair, if that were truly the case, women would stop dating morons with no money who beat them to pulp.
It's not so cut and dried.

Indeed not.

Women are just regular people that don't know what the fuck they even want.

Sure.

They will marry a moron with no money who beats their children, then wise up and start looking for a better father.
Depending on the culture, 60% to 80% of all divorces are filed by women.
If they knew what they were looking for the figure would be reversed.

9:49 PM
Oh, really?

Today I sang Händel's Messiah, BTW.
Now that's a fat book. They gave me the sheet music to take home.
Not as easy to sing as Bach, I'm finding.
We spent a good hour working on a single chord. Trying to get the sopranos a quarter of a tone higher, and the altos a quarter of a tone lower.
Very challenging.

Great!
Whom with?

That Bach Choir I'm now apparently in.

Are you in a choir? I don't remember.
Nice.

You've not been following the news? I've been posting the news.
Sep 12 at 21:12, by RegDwigнt
@Robusto so I just sang in a choir just now. For the first time in my life. Bach's motets lol. What a start.

9:58 PM
I think I recommended a choir to you.
But I didn't know you had actually joined one!
What is it like?

You recommended some singing channel. That I now have actual need to check out.

I also recall talking about how several of my friends enjoy singing in choirs.
Oct 12 '18 at 22:02, by Cerberus
I know one of my friend really enjoyed the choir she was in, made a lot of friends there, and also one or two dates, I think.

@Cerberus well they sing like in the biggest church of the state, and travel to Italy and France to sing there. It's an amateur choir on paper, but yeah if them's amateurs I'm the shah of Persia.

Hmm this is all I could find.
@RegDwigнt Hmm and how is the level for you?
Not too high or too low?

@Cerberus well, actually I suggest that you click on that comment I quoted earlier and read from there. Should take you a minute or two.

@Robusto so I just sang in a choir just now. For the first time in my life. Bach's motets lol. What a start.

10:01 PM
OK.

Starting there.
The first comment below that is yours.
Jesus.
Not even I remembered.
It's contagious!
Anyway. Any level is too high for me at this point. So might as well just start with the highest.

Funny story.
Sounds like a great choir, both in skill and in attitude.

Yeah life's been throwing funny stories at me like it's nothing.

Out of curiosity, would you say you have an accent in German?

I would say that. Very few people around me actually agree.
I can actually hear it for a fact. But apparently not everyone is so lucky.

10:06 PM
Hmm.
And do you have an accent in Russian?

Jun 16 '18 at 15:27, by RegDwigнt
"I don't have an identifiable accent.
In any language.
I have an accent in every language, however slight, but you can't pin it down.
I've been deemed a French, a Lithuanian, you name it."
My late nan used to complain how I had acquired an accent in Russian.

Noted.
I forgot, where in Russia were you from?

But it's not really an accent, I still got all the individual sounds down.
It's more like the melody of the sentence.
I have acquired a German cadence.

I see.

Kind of like someone from Wales can go live in Australia for twenty years, and they return and are still perfeclty fluent in Welsh, but their every sentence now raises in pitch at the end.
@Cerberus are you pulling my leg now.

10:10 PM
It seems like something I know.
But at the moment I don't.

Sixth-generation Muscovite.

I was going to say Moscow.
But it's so 'generic' that it's hard to remember.

Though I have roots in Kaluga and Lithuania and Finland, and half my surname is Azeri for some reason. And nobody at all knows why.

Just as I will forgot your name the instant you tell me if it is the same as mine.
I remember the Azeri part.

Good thing I will never tell you my name is the same is yours.

10:11 PM
No, indeed.

There is literally one person in the entire world with my name.
If I were a smarter person, I would probably capitalize on that somehow.
