Hey @Rob, you need a unique badge for most-commented-on-thing?
Here, I'll build one just for you: .
Wear it with pride, our little boy scout. You take the hits so we don't have to. Represent.
02:43
@RegDwigнt Is that question actually the most commented on ever?
03:40
@Robusto probably not, but what do I care. You get the prize.
#slacker, remember.

> 1 She didn't so much as say "Thank you".
2 She didn't say so much as a "Thank you".
Both are grammatically correct, right?
(Maybe #1 is better, because it means "She didn't do anything, even so much as say 'Thank you'")
Yet there's a difference between them and a sentence like this:
> 3 Dutch is not so much a language as an ailment of the throat.
(It's a quote from a book I don't recall, and I suppose it's a joke even there)
Because not so much as is split in #3.
I suppose it's possible to reword #3 to stitch the gap, as is possible to split #1 and #2.
Or not. They are different in meaning.

Someone actually favorited that.
What am I doing with my life. Why do I even try.
Bless your soul, Violinboy11.
You misspelled your name, though. Should be Voilinboy11.

@RegDwigнt Et viola!
In actual news, no one is going to touch 'complexifier'?

@RegDwigнt That second recorder part looks very restful.

@Robusto hell I can play it. And for the longest time in my life I thought "recorder" was a cassette tape deck. Not sure if I told the story before.
My mom got me a book of sheet music when I was learning piano in Russia, and it said "Recorder" on the cover. It was, like, a fake book of a bunch of non-Russian songs that I had never heard before. Quite a treasure trove. Mostly The Beatles, some Neil Young, some Kurt Weill. Puff the Magic Dragon. Things like that. Ray Henderson's Bye-bye, Blackbird.
And I thought it said "recorder" because that's the kind of music you'd record off the radio if you lived in the West.
True story.
Anyways, I was actually thinking if I should comment on Violinboy's score that if you have trouble playing the second recorder's part, you should visualize an A380 on final approach.
But I am lazy. Also I don't like to help people. So I didn't comment.
