Are you awake now?
01:20
@Mitch I'm guessing your mother had to put child-proof locks on all the kitchen cabinet doors and drawers...
@KannE Haha. No.
Wait... that just means she should have
@Mitch I voted in my Day of the Dead t-shirt...but they still tried to hand me literature...so I said, "I'm wearing a Day of the Dead shirt." And he said, "I don't know what that means." So I said, "You don't know what that means?" And then I walked away and voted for his party...probably. Dang, team up, guys...smh.
01:56
@KannE I don't know what that means
hahah
actually, really, I don't
That's a guess
Anyway I don't vote for parties
I ROCK ALL THE PARTIES
cue party music
wait for the key change...

@Mitch Uh, a Mexican holiday...never mind. BTW, I love songs that never end...especially when driving across Texas. Our boys were scouts; they had lots of songs...one about diarrhea...it was fun for the first hour or so...
02:54
@KannE No wonder you wrote that poem about shit that day.

@Jasper Ha-ha, I don't even remember it. I must've been in a shitty mood about something. Writing poems...or well-disguised rants...resolves that for me.

What do I call a drug concentration curve that is plotted on a logarithmic scale?
Log-scale curve?

A logarithmic scale is a nonlinear scale used when there is a large range of quantities. Common uses include earthquake strength, sound loudness, light intensity, and pH of solutions. It is based on orders of magnitude, rather than a standard linear scale, so the value represented by each equidistant mark on the scale is the value at the previous mark multiplied by a constant. Logarithmic scales are also used in slide rules for multiplying or dividing numbers by adding or subtracting lengths on the scales. == Common usages == The following are examples of commonly used logarithmic scales, where...
I don't know what term you are looking for but the article above might help you. It contains lots of different terms you may need.

If I've finished my project, can I say that it's over?

2 hours later…
17:24
@Curio With questions like these, probably best to give a full sentence, and maybe a sentence beforehand to set up context.
But yes, I suspect it is OK if:
"How's your project in your class going? Don't you have exams coming up?"
" _My project is over_ . I turned it in already so now I have to start studying for the final exam."
Is that like how you were going to use it?
17:42
@Mitch Yeah more or less
Thanks

So...someone is going through all the old answers and downvoting all the ones that answered questions that were subsequently put on hold for whatever reasons. I recently figured out how to blockquote multiple example sentences and keep them listed vs. jumbled up in a paragraph as block quoting does for whatever reason. So, I was editing my old answer to unjumble the examples (didn't notice it had been put on hold) and it was immediately downvoted.
That's annoying!
If this is a serial down-voter, quite possibly the mechanisms will catch up with him.
Out of curiosity, why do you always post such long chat lines?
I suspect people are more likely to read them if each sentence goes on a new line?
So, in that case, if you can just downvote an answer based on some urgent need to be an asshole, can I do that too? Is there a rule against an asshole targeting other assholes? If not, I have 600 points to blow, not much but...oh, I think Cerberus just answered that. Never mind.
@Cerberus I know...you hate that...sorry. I don't know how to hard return without sending...and I ramble sometimes...a lot.
@KannE There's nothing stopping you from being a jerk too.
@KannE I think he's saying to go ahead and hard return (to make things easier to read for him?). If it's one thought I don't think there's a problem with having a long chat response. I mean it could go on and on and on as long as it encompasses one real topic, even if it is more than one sentence and more like a paragraph that is all about one thing, where separating into multiple lines would give the impression that there are separate distinct thoughts that you are trying to get across. It d
dang it.
character limit reached
Wait, how do you know that? How do you know it is one person downvoting a whole bunch of answers to questions recently put on hold?
@KannE Haha, now you're doing it on purpose, the ellipsis...
What's wrong with hard returns?
You can do a soft return by typing
shift-enter
Like so.
@Mitch You can use a soft return to pass the character limit.
@Robusto Have you experienced many adverse effects in your daily life, from Trump's reign?
22:30
@Cerberus wha??
I never knew that.
Oops!
Now you do.
That seems like a weird way to get around a limit. What's the point of a limit then?
How else do you think Tchrist posted those long messages that get cut off...
Also, now I'm going to abuse that privilege to the utmost.
By experimenting on @Jasper
Yeah, the limit doesn't make too much sense, at least not for respectable users.
I'm sure being experimented upon will be one of his favourite fetishes.

OK I'm bored
Was it fun?
Oh.
@Cerberus I thought... well... magic?
isn't that how anything we don't understand works?
Quite so.
@Cerberus Oh. Then you're safe from me
You're respectable and reputable?
22:34
@Cerberus quite the opposite
neither nor
maybe a little reputable
well, I presume that I'm able to be respected and have a reputation. Having those is another thing.
@Mitch Nah...if you become what you hate...you might as well vote for it.
She was such a nice girl when she was younger
@KannE something something wrestling pigs somethety something it's a mess and blah blha blha they like it.
@Mitch See there...no one wants to end on a "d"...but it happens...the end.
@Mitch Like I told my kids--I'm clairvoyant...or--I'm NOT clairvoyant! Whichever...the point is...just keep them steadily confused.
@Cerberus Thanks, I thought there must be a way. I wonder if I knew that once upon a time...the end.
Me too!
A lot!
23:02
@Cerberus: Yes. I get dyspepsia every time I think about him.
23:14
@Mitch You have lots of reps!
@KannE Good!
@Robusto Naturally.
What practical things, as opposed to mental?
@Cerberus I suppose so. I only have a handful of respects. Hmm... I feel like I've given them all away at the godfather's funeral.
@Cerberus I keep saying nothing bad has actually happened yet, politicians haven't been embezzling, the economy hasn't imploded, targeted subcultures haven't been put in jeopardy, people haven't been deported, bombs ha...
23:40
@Mitch So have you suffered practical consequences in your daily life?
