The Oxford r serial comma, which is common in the US but not in the UK, means that you put a comma before the 'and' in a list of three or more.

So I would more likely expect "In summer, monsoon, and winter" (since I read mostly US things)

And yet people can talk about it using a list of two and still get upvoted.

@NVZ As much as I would rather say that matters based on the are some questions too simple criteria, it seems that as of late most people don't care if research would be fruitful or not on the basis that you should at least try.
