I was just about to suggest this myself, alongside the word close, but I think it can be done much better than this. @JasperLoy The main reason I do it is because the license is compatible with the CC-BY-SA 3.0 terms imposed by Stack Exchange, by virtue of being the same. All of the other dictionaries have stricter copyright provisions, which is something would rather not run afoul of if such is unnecessary.

There was one time when I did rely upon the content of a definition, but it wasn't so much because I was endorsing the definition itself, so much as the fact that I needed to make reference to a series referenced within.

Wiktionary is very, very low on my prioritization list otherwise. Out of the contemporary dictionaries I'd rather use the A.H.D. first, then any other dictionary which corroborates my point if the A.H.D. is insufficient (this often ends up being the Cambridge Advanced Learner's Dictionary & Thesaurus for some reason), then Wiktionary as a second (or maybe third) to last resort, with the Urban Dictionary being the absolute last one.

Even then, I'd probably only use the palm sized printed version of the Urban Dictionary at that, because it offers a limited selection that excludes most of the junk.

If you notice anything that doesn't look quite right, there's your evidence.
