aw man, no mod...

ah, there you are Kos, here's what I was going to ask...
I was wondering if a question soliciting "self-contradicting grammatical rules" would be alright for english.SE?
(it ought to be CW I suppose)
For example?
see the link I gave
I think if you are looking for more examples of sentences giving a rule that break the rule, it seems a little off-topic.
Ah, then I won't be asking it. A good thing I asked here first, then. :)
You are certainly welcome to give it a try, but I have a feeling it would be closed.
But usually we try to stick as close to concrete question and concrete answer (or list of answers).
...as possible (forgot to finish my sentence)

But you would close such a question, 'no?
I probably would, but since the site is in the early stages, I would wait until 1 or 2 people voted to close it before I would do it.
Since my vote is all it takes
Then I definitely won't. :)
But there have been a couple questions here and there that I might have closed, but others clearly wanted to keep open. But in general I think humor ones like your example get a lot of people who want to give answers, but most regular users vote to close them.
You could try posting on meta though, with a question verifying whether it would be off-topic.
Naw, it's alright, I won't lose sleep over not posting it...
OK :)

Hi
I've got a question for anyone who would be interested
I have this question in meta that became tumbleweed (link will follow). It is about how to handle off-topic question that could found their place elsewhere. I want to have your opinion: is it worth it that I try to push it, maybe posting it on MSOFU, or should I let it die?

Q: On Migrating and Dispatching: redirecting off-topic question from and to EL&U.

EldrosFollowing the recent complaints concerning the growth of the Stack Exchange Family and where to ask questions, I think it would make sense to help the users and moderators to find the right place for a question. One of the best examples available would be the faq of math.se, especially the list o...

@Eldros: I suppose nobody has answered or commented so far because people don't think it's urgent. Right now, we can't tell which of those other site proposals will see a beta, let alone graduate from it. And by the time we do have a few language-related sites to migrate questions between, the powers that be might well have implemented that "Dispatch Center" idea from the meta Meta or something in that vein.
@RegDwight Well I guess I can let the issue be until it becomes more relevant, I just thought it might be useful to think about it in advance, as I might have missed some sites.
And I have to confess, I wanted to make a bit of promotion :p
(for the proposals)
But I still think it is an issue one should keep an eye on.
@Eldros: yeah, I would definitely keep the question itself, nothing wrong with at least thinking about it in advance. The "where to post my question" questions on the meta Meta are all about programming right now, but that's only because we have so many programming-related sites. Once we have a bunch of language-related sites, we'll probably face similar issues with them.
Anyhow, at least you now have that elusive "Tumbleweed" badge. I don't think it's even possible to get it on the main site (not that that's a bad thing).
@RegDwight true that.
