I guess that could be expected with a few-years-old device. I'm going to have to remember to test out the computer or phone version to see how that does before I buy too many more textbooky things.
@Cerberus I am not sure how the new Kindles do, but my old one (perhaps first gen) does do text for these things, probably because they were encoded that way. But it seems to like to put in a blatantly wrong symbol instead of a little box. And the schwa comes out gigantic.
@Cerberus I got used to the giant schwa, but then it'll be talking about vowels and suddenly there is a theta instead and I'm like, um, no, even I know that's not a vowel...
Fortunately transcription hasn't been integral to understanding the text.
