@Robusto uh I've no idea whose avatar you're talking about.
JC?
Oh, you mean that buddy Christ meme or what? That's from Dogma.
I don't know if any of the askers in the video were named JC and never paid attention to what their avatars were.
But Dogma is a movie, so I'll just roll with that.
Buddy Christ is a parody religious icon and Catholic Church marketing tool created by Filmmaker Kevin Smith, which first appeared in Smith’s 1999 film Dogma. In the film, Buddy is part of a campaign ("Catholicism Wow!") to renew the image of (and interest in) the Catholic Church. Viewing the crucifix image as "wholly depressing", the Church, led by Cardinal Glick (George Carlin), decides to retire it, and creates Buddy Christ as a more uplifting image of Jesus Christ. The icon consists of a statue of Jesus, smiling and winking while pointing at onlookers with one hand and giving the thumbs-up...
Look ma, it even has a wiki.
Interesting that the image won't embed, though.
SEnsorship?

In other news, literally actually, the fuck is going on with Der Spiegel.
I just went for a quick browse of their front page, and midway through it something caught my eye.
The article summary for three articles in a row started with the exact same word. "The catastrophe".
So I scrolled back a bit further up and sure enough three more of those.
And all the article titles are single-word nouns.
And then I scrolled back up to the very top, and sure enough it's just all "The catastrophe" all the time.
I've been checking that page almost daily for maybe something like twenty-two years now.
This is completely unprecedented.

@RegDwigнt THE END IS NEAR

I don't know. They said that about the last twenty raptures, too.

@Robusto lots of things happened that shouldn't have at all been possible in so-called democracies, an easy cover-up for nine years.
@RegDwigнt it's exceedingly orange, that front page
Inspires a "Where's Donald" series of strips

It's been their corporate color for 70 years now, and it's finally paying off.

Die Ignoranz. How polite.
@RegDwigнt okay that's really weird

11:41 PM
@M.A.R. surely that's the most polite thing anyone's said about Trump in years.

I'd've said it's some Easter egg or something

Well Easter Eggs are not meant to be this apparent.
This is downright comical.
Anyway, I must be off for today.
Nighty-night.
DIE KATASTROPHE!

Me too
@RegDwigнt Katastrophe 2020

@RegDwigнt Exactly.
@RegDwigнt Doch die Katastrophe beginnt jetzt? Sorry, but it began a looong time ago. This is just another stage.
@M.A.R. And the happy ending is: nowhere!
