@Robusto East Troublesome now at 170,000 acres, but its advance towards Estes Park has supposedly been checked by incoming weather cold and wet.

None of the maps are up to date yet.

And they've allowed residents in through 6pm for some of the areas near me.

That was the line out of Estes Park at 2pm in the afternoon today. It's dark as night.

I'm pretty sure I'd want some sort of suit to keep all that out. Like a dry suit but for Mars.

Something with stripes of course. I mean we're not savages.

But cosmic rays... I'd always worried about solar radiation, which of course is easily managed by a geostationary sail satellite that if appropriately placed between Mars and the sun would provide the same protection as the Earth's Van Allen belt.

For cosmic rays though, I'm think maybe... a wide brimmed hat?

That sounds like some sort of chemical, like akin to sorbitol. So it is easily mined straight from the soil and you can put it directly into food products like artificial sweetener or soft drinks or gummi bears.

So I think that takes care of everything.
