Q: Is there a word for the ability to see/hear images and sounds in your head using your own imagination?

DaneJoeExactly what the title says, nothing else to it other than that the website keeps telling me I need to waste time filling this post with content other than the title. I'm wondering if there's a word for the ability to see/hear images and sounds in your head through your own imagination.

Q: Is there an equivalent English word for Jain concept of "Dharmastikāya" (i.e. Principle of Motion)?

Aadit M ShahIn Jain cosmology, the universe is made up of six dravya (i.e. substances) one of which is dharma (i.e. Principle of Motion). To quote Wikipedia: Dharma means the principles of Motion that pervade the entire universe. Dharma and Adharma are by themselves not motion or rest but mediate motion ...

@tchrist Hi, is there any way we could reverse the duplication here on the basis that the newer question has more answers?

Q: "It really doesn't matter" v "It doesn't really matter"

user262410I can't distinguish the difference in meaning between these two sentences. It really doesn't matter. It doesn't really matter. It seems that there is a nuanced difference, but I cannot see what this is.

and more votes and a rapidly increasing viewership ...?

Q: What do you call food that is neither junk or healthy food?

alexExample: After that first encounter, Kazumi and Hidehiko started meeting regularly at the McDonald’s. Once they got tired of junk food, they switched to __ alternatives like salmon sashimi, soba noodles, and miso soup. Is there a word or phrase for that? Not-so-unhealthy food?

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm pretty enamoured of 'Trircle'. I'm adding it to my dictionary. — Easy Tiger 2 hours ago
Can anyone actually pronounce that? I keep stumbling when I try.

@MetaEd Gah! Here! I'm here! Are you blind? I'm right here in front of you. I've been here all this time. Why do people keep asking over and over like I'm invisible? Do I have to jump up and down like a clown?
Wait... did you say 'Bueller'? Oh, sorry, I'm Beulah. I misheard. Never mind.
@terdon On your way to Penzance, what town do you pass by?
Hm... Truro is hard to pronounce too.

@Mitch Uhm. Rose-an-Grouse?
But it's really weird how hard tritcle is to say!

@terdon Trircle rhymes with squircle which is the sound it makes when you squeeze an oil can

Heh, so it is :)
But that one I can say. Trircle I can't.

Q: Is there a word which means "not bound by time or space"?

klaoha06I am trying to write about something which is independent of time and space and I am looking for a word which means as such. Please help! Thank you.

@terdon What I suggest you should do is be adopted by French parents before you reach the age of 5. The French pronounce al sorts of things crazy, so I'd suspect they could do these made up words, too.

Q: Dad, auntie, nana, grandpa, etc... What is this group of words called?

LookingForANameWhen explaining to someone learning French when to use "Vous" or "Tu", there is a basic rule of thumb I find useful : Vous : Used when speaking to people you usually call by their last name, title, or occupation. ex : Ms Smith, Sir, Doctor, Officer... Tu : Used when speaking ...
