Q: Copyright legal note

MichaelSince my native language is not english i have to worry about the correct spelling of a copyright legal note. Any copyright infringement will have the consequence of legal actions against you. Is this correct? It sounds a bit weird to me. I guess you understand what i want to say.

@MrHen I think there is an on-topic question here and an off-topic question. It's not clear which this is. If they are writing what amounts to legal text, I'd call if off-topic, because you need a lawyer to advise.

@Mr.ShinyandNew安宇 Yeah, that was my thought too.

Although sometimes it's not entered text, but the selection from the list.
It doesn't really matter except I don't want to confuse myself if I look at it again next year.

So these are two data fields?
two tables?
two parts of a name of something?

It is for instance Gene / Allele contains "c57bl/6" and I am breaking it into 'Gene / Allele contains' and c57bl/6.

6:55 PM
What is the question again? I really want to guess right on this one :)

@KitFox ew. tricky.
Subject+Verb, Object?
It's hard to say without looking at the whole data model.

The whole data model would make you want to vomit.

I decided on antecedent and selection.
I'm keeping the whole phrase as well, under the name criterion.

Successor?
But the antecedent of successor is a predecessor.
or ancestor/descendant?

7:08 PM
Funny thing is, as soon as I thought antecedent, I thought determiner.
Maybe selector and selected would have been better.

prefix?

It's not really a prefix though.
It's search data. It's stored as the field label and then what was entered or selected.

Are you really working with gene data?

Yes.

So just the middle part, out of rubber with the rotating knives in it, neatly fell out of the plastic part.
@MattЭллен my wife has a theory that the soup was still too hot, but I don't subscribe to that one. The dishwasher, in point of fact, is way hotter.

Anyway, not my problem really, they should just replace it and I shall be happy. knocks on wood

Concert pitch refers to the pitch reference to which a group of musical instruments are tuned for a performance. Concert pitch may vary from ensemble to ensemble, and has varied widely over musical history. In the literature this is also called international standard pitch. The reference note most commonly used is the "A" above middle C. The term "concert pitch" is also used to distinguish between the "written" (or "nominal"), and "sounding" (or "real") notes of a transposing instrument - concert pitch here refers to the pitch on a non-transposing instrument. Pope Joan was a legendary female pope who allegedly reigned for a few years some time during the Middle Ages. The story first appeared in 13th-century chronicles, and was subsequently spread and embellished throughout Europe. It was widely believed for centuries, though modern religious scholars consider it fictitious, perhaps deriving from historicized folklore regarding Roman monuments or from anti-papal satire. The first mention of the female pope appears in the chronicle of Jean de Mailly, but the most popular and influential version was that interpolated into Martin of Opava's Chr...

Why do they call 100 a "ton" in darts?

11:42 PM
@IQAndreas I have faith in your abilities in that area!
@Jez "Ton" is used for various large quantities, so why not a hundred...
A hundred thousand money is called a ton in Dutch.

@Cerberus because we have the word hundred

@Cerberus A metric ton is 1000 kilograms.

I know that.

But I'm not a darts player, so I'm not sure why 100 would be used.

Perhaps a ton can also be 10,000 of something in some language...

@Cerberus Wasn't sure if you were a "less-enlightened" American. ;)

@IQAndreas Haha, I see.
Nope, this is the Old World!
I don't even know what a ton in weight is in the Imperial and/or American systems.

@Cerberus I just Googled it, it's 1,016kg (facepalm)

Ton as a measurement of volume can even mean a ton of other things...
@IQAndreas Hilarious!

One imperial ton is also 2,240 lbs, which is very easy to remember.

Although does it fit better in ELU or Sports?

@IQAndreas How is that easy!!
