12:04 AM
Whoa, suddenly there’s a crowd.

12:17 AM
@KitFox Excellent.
@tchrist Yeah, what are all those people doing here in my room, standing in my way and making noise?
> Will Using the Prefix Cyber- Make Me Look Like an Idiot?

2 hours later…
2:46 AM
coughs

@chatkillah Did you cover your mouth? I don't want the plague.
washes hands

Well, that's a fine how-do-you-do.
How goes it?

I'm doing fairly well, thank you. Working hard, and all that.
And yourself?

Oh, same.
They opened a Starbucks in the shopping center I grew up with. It's all man cave meets ski lodge in there.
In a nice way.

Yeah, the one I work at is fairly nice-looking.
We have some comfy chairs and a big wall made out of an old tin roof.
Dark wood, dim-ish lighting, the whole nine.

2:57 AM
There's a plaque telling you how sustainable the store is.

Same, we're a LEED certified store.

Yeah, hides dirt.

Our plaque is in the form of an immovable coaster.

The counter looks like a big slice of tree.
This one's by the john.
I need to try that blonde roast.

I am not a huge fan of the blonde roast, mainly because it's too acidic for my tastes.

2:59 AM
So far, I haven't found a bag of whole bean.
I'm looking forward to increased caffeine.

Christmas Blonde, however, is excellent.
@chatkillah The difference is negligible, unfortunately.

curses
Curses!
Did you see Titanic?

I didn't, no.
My parents still won't let me.
There's a naked lady.

I'll say no more of that though.
Haha, silly silly.

3:04 AM
We got what I imagine are Mahnax-land amounts of snow recently.
About a meter within six days.

Well, that's rather a lot.

'Twas.

We haven't had a decent snowfall in… weeks.

And tchrist will argue that he perhaps had more from those storms, but my town isn't well-equipped to deal with that much.

> And tchrist will argue…

3:06 AM
I saw more than a few people moving snow with open-air bobcats.

Enough has been said ;-)

@chatkillah chuckles

brrrr
Our curbs have started appearing.

Shovels and mittens, folks.
That's how we do things in Canada.
Afterwards, light beer and poutine.

3:07 AM
You couldn't buy a snow blower or a shovel in this town by the end of the second big storm.

b-b-but large amounts of wet, heavy snow

A snow blower is a luxury that I will never have.

Most of the bobcatters were clearing things like church entrances.

@chatkillah Ah yes, important things like that.

3:08 AM
I'll buy you a snow blower.
Mm.
They had a bobcatter here at the apartment complex, too.

@chatkillah No thank you. Shovelling is fun.
I'll happily clear a driveway of 40cm of snow if I'm not in a hurry to be anywhere.

@Mahnax it is, for a while, if you have the proper outfit.

@chatkillah T-shirt and mittens, you're set.

0_0

cackles

3:11 AM
It was like, 18F out there. And windy.

Only if it's warmer than -10˚C.

calculates

-8˚C, we're good to go.

Hmpf.

Hehe.

3:12 AM
I shoveled behind my car and the vicinity after the second one. When I came in, my hands shook for a while.
I felt really good otherwise.

@chatkillah That can't be healthy.

@Mahnax I think it was just because I don't do anything like that with regularity.
Maybe I got overheated in my down coat.

Hm, can't have that sticking around in the transcript.

Ooh! Ooh!
Hello there!
What have I missed?

Cerby!
So nice to see you again.

3:17 AM
Likewise!
How are things?
It is good of you to still pop in from time to time, no harm in that.

Things are good. I'm doing fairly well in school right now, which is always nice.
Anything new happening in your life?

Good!
Hmm not much happened here.
I have made crème brûlée?
I'm researching the etymology of -ble?

@Cerberus Ah, yummy.

My friend is getting married, and I may have to be her best man?

@Cerberus Even yummier!

3:22 AM
Haha.

@Cerberus That's exciting!
Do you want to be her best man?

I like the idea very much; it's just that I hope it won't involve having to organise things I know nothing about.
Like, wedding stuff.

Oh, fair enough.

It'll probably be all right.

I would be a terrible wedding planner.

3:24 AM
Haha.
Why do you think so?

"How about this one?"
"Are you crazy?! It doesn't match!"
Something like that.

I see. Sounds very...judicious.

Heh.

"Should the life-size ice swans be pink or purple stained?"

Lilac. Pfft, plebe.

3:26 AM
Oops!
I see you are more experienced in this.

Sorry, I meant urban proletariat.

Is that better or worse?

grumbles about 1790s France
@Cerberus More or less the same, probably.
Sans-culotte!

Hah. Is that what you are learning about now?
I am indeed without culotte.
Being a dog.

@Cerberus the one who went to France?

3:27 AM
Yep. I find it very interesting, actually.

@chatkillah She is in Paris now, yes, or she has just come back. Did I tell you about her? She doesn't live there though, just a short holiday.

@Cerberus a while back, you met a friend for coffee or something who was leaving for Paris.

Yeah, the French Revolution is quite interesting—except the endless changes in regime and policy and all during the 1790s...unless you're into that.
@chatkillah To live there? That must be my other friend.
You have a great memory!
She's still living there.
God knows when she will move back.

@Cerberus Hey, I like it.
It's very silly sometimes though.

OK, OK!
Very.

3:31 AM
@Cerberus thank you!

The only thing I remember is that Robespierre was a butcher who in the end was butchered by his own favourite knife.

Sorry if it is creepy.

Not at all!

Hooray!

Just thoughtful.
You know my memory sucks.

3:32 AM
@Cerberus He was originally against the death penalty, but then went wild with it, then went completely nuts and ended up dead.
He tried to shoot himself in the head, apparently.

Oh, was he against it? I didn't know that.
Wasn't he eventually prosecuted too?

His suicide attempt failed, so several days later they gently separated his head from his body.

Ah haha.

If you call that a prosecution…

You're mild today.

3:33 AM
How do you mean?

@chatkillah I remember your cat looking at the snow.
@Mahnax Or, rather, hard to impress.
If decapitation isn't enough...

@Cerberus Oh, that. Well, decapitation ≠ prosecution. I wonder if he even had a proper trial.
But the Reign of Terror had to end itself, so it did.
C'est la vie.

Oh haha, in that way.
Oui, ça c'est la vie.

Speaking of French, my French teacher is a little bonkers.

What's also funny is how writers still refer to month names according to the revolutionary calendar.
Oh, what does he or she do?

3:38 AM
Seriously, they should have called winter Robes-hiver.

Heh.

@Cerberus He asked for yesterday's devoirs to be handed in, but he had not given them to us.
They sat on his desk, un-handed out, and incomplete.

Ah, quelle stupidité!
Il est vraiment fou.

Mais il est agréable, alors je suppose que c'est pardonnable.

And of course he asked, "why didn't you remind me to assign your homework?"

3:40 AM
Non, non. Il riait.

Bien sûr. Je suppose qu'il accepta son erreur?

Oui.
C'était drôle.
Anyways, I'll be running along then.
See you good folks again sometime.

Oké.
À la prochaine!

Oui, à la prochaine!

4:20 AM
Did you see this?
Did who saw what

Sorry

Don't mind.
Amazing!
Hi @Cerberus
@malloc: From which country you belong?

@sudhir US

I've one doubt. Could you please clarify?

4:26 AM
@sudhir What doubt?

I've two sentence tell me which is correct.

What are they?

1) Did you called me yesterday?
2) Did you call me yesterday?

2

You're sure?

4:28 AM
Yes it is 2. I don't know why. It sounds right.

Okay
"I know it"
"I knew it"
What's the difference between two?
I think it'll be sleeping time in US?

1 is present tense, 2 is future tense
Sorry, 2 is past tense
The future tense is "I will know it"

Thanks
@malloc: You're going for sleep?

Yes
Good night

Good night
Thanks

8 hours later…
12:52 PM
This room is dead as disco. I think @Reg should come back for a few guest appearances.

seconded
@Cerberus are you a cyber-Cerberus? Does that make you a cyberus?
