10:00 PM
@RegDwightѬſ道 Hasta pronto!

@Kitḫ Never! I am now in Bio 20 IB, and I learned how photosynthesis actually works (the really complicated, intricate details) and it is so cool!

@RegDwightѬſ道 blows kisses
@Mahnax Excellent!

"Chemiosmotic phosphorylation".
@Kitḫ I agree!

Hint: the first Lesbians in history featured here.

@Cerberus Ooh, could it be Sodom?
Joking, of course.

10:02 PM
Heh.
Notice the capital.

@Cerberus Isn't that more of an answer than a hint?

amazon?
Lesbos

@aediaλ scratches floor with toe while looking down, hands on back

Hehe.

@MattЭллен Ding!

10:03 PM
Wonder Woman's birthplace would've been a better hint.

But Aedia got it first.

@Cerberus yeah :D

@Kitḫ Who's that again?

My answer before the "hint" would have been "a blue T surrounded by some green stuff" though.

@Cerberus You can't "get" Lesbian, OK?

10:04 PM
giggles

Wonder Woman is a DC Comics superheroine created by William Moulton Marston. She first appeared in All Star Comics #8 (December 1941). The Wonder Woman title has been published by DC Comics almost continuously except for a brief hiatus in 1986. Wonder Woman is a warrior Princess of the Amazons (based on the Amazons of Greek mythology) and was created by Marston, an American, as a "distinctly feminist role model whose mission was to bring the Amazon ideals of love, peace, and sexual equality to a world torn by the hatred of men." Known in her homeland as Diana of Themyscira, her powers...

@Kitḫ HAHAHA
Jasper might disagree.
@Kitḫ Oh yes, looks familiar!

@Cerberus Might?

...And she certainly didn't get it from me.

@Mahnax Well, you know.

10:05 PM
OK, must feed family. Bye!

cya @Kit :)

@Kitḫ Bye!

@Kitḫ Bye!

@Kitḫ See ya!

@Cerberus is it in North America?

10:07 PM
Hmm. A very lumpy snake?

Haha.

@MattЭллен Nope.
@aediaλ I guess.

It ate a few humans and a unicorn.

Greece?

10:10 PM
@MattЭллен Close!

Luckily, I'm a dinosaur.

@Mahnax OMG you are the Python!!

oh, so it is the top of Italy?

@Cerberus True!

@MattЭллен Colder.

10:10 PM
the south of Turkey?

@MattЭллен Ding!!

Wait, if it's by Greece...

@MattЭллен I was gonna say that!
May I pick a map?

10:11 PM
@Mahnax You were too busy gorging.
@Mahnax Yes!

@Cerberus :(
@Cerberus Yay!

@Cerberus I had no idea it even looked like that until now

@Mahnax Hey what's with the face? Tell me you don't like eating all those people!
@aediaλ We all learn new things here!
Or it wouldn't be what it is.
@Mahnax P.S. Use Zizorz!

@Cerberus Meh.

It's really great. Small, fast, and effective.

10:13 PM

Oh, but I think it's Win only.

channel islands?
nah, too much shelf

@Mahnax Hmm...somewhere in the south-west Pacific?

Anyhow, all I have to do is press CMD + Shift + 4, select an area, then upload the file.

@Mahnax Zizorz uploads it for you and puts the address on your clipboard.

10:15 PM
@Cerberus Nice.
@Cerberus Nein.

A sideways overplucked eyebrow about to fall off the brow?

I have dishes to do soon.

is it in the Atlantic?

Yep.

I don't recognize these islands right away. Should I?

10:16 PM
Well, near it at any rate.
@aediaλ Meh.

@aediaλ Neither do I...

Need a hint?

Bahamas?
Florida Keys?

@Cerberus Nope.

10:18 PM
Is it off Scandinavia?

Caribbean?

Something at the end of South America? I don't think there's that many there...

@MattЭллен Nah.
@Cerberus Yes.

ah well

@Mahnax Hmm then it must be some of the Antilles.
Are some of the islands Dutch?

10:19 PM
@Cerberus True.

@Cerberus I'm sure I ought to know their names then, but I don't, at least not from what they look like

@aediaλ Neither do I.

@Cerberus Hmmm. I don't know.
Shall I tell you all?

I know where all the islands are, approximately, but I wouldn't recognize their shapes.
Yes.

10:20 PM
Yes tell us!

Okay. That big island is Puerto Rico.

Huh!
I rejected that because it was supposed to be more horizontal!

Huh really? I didn't recognize it when it was the biggest

Aaaah!

The others include Antigua and Barbuda, etc.

10:22 PM

Ohhh you rotated the image!
Foul play!

Now that I know where they are, I looked 'em up

I did?

I would have immediately recognized this!

I did, too! I'm sorry. I seriously hadn't realized....
Bleh.

10:23 PM
Was it the spirit of Steve Jobs?

@Cerberus ..?

OK! I have one

Anyways, dishes. I am sorry.

@Mahnax He never liked me, as a Windows user.
@MattЭллен Rhodes!

10:24 PM
dang it
yes :D

Hehe.
Sorry.
For some reason I've always liked its shape.

don't be sorry. It's satisfying when you get them quickly

I didn't know it :)

To whom?
@aediaλ But I'm a G(r)eek.

Hehe. I suppose that makes a big difference.

10:26 PM

lots of rivers
is it a famous river?

We've already covered this one, sort of.
@MattЭллен Not really.
Hint: Aedia would know!
In fact, if you look really closely, you can spot her.

the rivers of the Unicorn Territories

And where are those?

buffalo?
new england?

10:30 PM
zips mouth

should pay attention more

Nope...do you know where she lives?

in theory

Hint: it's not a state.

but not in practice

10:30 PM
Mmmf Feffaffeek

(I think.)

I know it's near Kit who lives near Canada...

@aediaλ Haha poor creature with your muffled sounds.
@MattЭллен Not quite.
1 min ago, by Cerberus
Hint: it's not a state.

so it's a city?

@MattЭллен Sort of, yes.
I mean, it's not in a state.

10:32 PM
Washington?
DC

Ding!

wow! I remember something

See?

Yes :D

You're not as bad as I am.

10:34 PM
unzips mouth Everywhere I go in a normal workweek is within a little area you can see at the top middle where the river ends

@Cerberus well, we could have a"who remembers least" competition, but I think it would be embarrassing for both of us

Well, not ends, I guess, but what looks like a sort of little rivery delta thing. I hardly ever have to cross to the west side of the Potomac. Who knows what's over there.

@aediaλ goblins and orcs most likely
best stay away

@MattЭллен But pain forgotten is pain no more!

@MattЭллен Eeek!

10:37 PM
@Cerberus true :D
right. I must sleep or I will be even less productive at work.
good night

@MattЭллен Night night!

Good night!

Jez
hey y'all

@Jez Hey! Haven't seen you in a while. How goes it?

Jez
not bad thanks. just trying to respond to some OKCupid profiles as usual
what do you think of this one? okcupid.com/profile/RedWineDrinker

user19161
10:50 PM
@Jez It's what you think that matters!

Jez
yeah
i think no. she likes literature, and it bores the pants off me

@Jez How does she actually match up with any of your answers - or hasn't she answered enough questions for you to tell?

@Jez I was just going to say that that made her seem interesting!
She looks really nice.

user19161
@Jez The very fact that you mentioned her shows that there is some nontrivial interest, don't reject it too quickly.

Jez
and it makes me (seem) boring

10:51 PM
Down to earth, intelligent.

Jez
because i dont know any frigging literature :-)

She may have ehm quite a figure.

user19161
@Jez Sometimes, opposites complement each other you know.

@Jez Good reason to read up!

Jez
oh yeah right
read half a library before first date
"Captain Corelli "

user19161
10:52 PM
@Jez You already have your software libraries!

Jez
"anything by Harlan Coben " - by whom?!

Her pictures seem cut off at the point where you can see more of her body, like her waist.

user19161
@Cerberus This has multiple meanings.

Jez
@WillHunting really? i only see one

user19161
@Jez I see more meanings than others usually see, so I often misunderstand others and others often misunderstand me.

10:54 PM
Hmm I take that back: she actually looks normal in the second picture.
I say, go for it!
She looks nice.

Jez
and if she asks me what literature i like?

People put that they've read things because the site asks them about it, not because it's the only thing they actually care about

user19161
@Cerberus Sounds like she is for you then!

Jez
there are no geeks in this area. sux.
but there do seem to be more locals coming onto OKCupid.
a year or two ago, there were like 5 in my area

@Jez Then you try to think of something, bluff a bit, and read a book in advance. If she asks you directly whether you are into reading, you say, "I like to read, but I can never find the time, so you've probably read tons more!".
@aediaλ Oh, good point.

user19161
10:56 PM
@Cerberus I think we should not try to bluff.

Jez
now there are maybe 10 online in the last week. i'd like to see an OKC ad campaign :-)
@Cerberus i suppose that might work temporarily... though she does say she's good at picking out bullshitters

Also, you could just be blatantly honest and say you don't really read fiction. It's not like you're illiterate. I'm sure you keep up with plenty of stuff on the interwebz. Better to find out soon if someone is so entirely different from you that not having literature as a common interest would be a dealbreaker.

Jez
yeah @aedia

user19161
@Jez You can say you participate on ELU!

Jez
i dont get it. some people say that when they read a book, it "turns into a movie in their head without the ads". if it did that for me, im sure i'd read lots of fiction... but it doesn't. it's just words on a page, rather disconnected from reality.

10:58 PM
@Jez If she asks you directly, "are you into literature?", you say, "hmm not nearly as much as you".

Jez
my brain just isn't wired to mentally turn it into a film
therefore i find most finction dull as ditchwater

Then how about chatting?

user19161
@Jez They just mean that they see the story visually unfold in their minds.

Jez
hmm?

Perhaps you should find the right fiction. Perhaps science fiction?

Jez
10:59 PM
@WillHunting yeah. and it doesnt for me.

Chatting is just words on a screen.

user19161
@Cerberus But ELU chat is superior!

Jez
i do read, but i read stuff like The Greatest Show On Earth... factual stuff
for me to get an 'experience' from fiction, i really need it in video form.
but women seem to be much better at getting that experience from the printed word, alas
