QWERTU... I could get used to it!

10:01 PM
Yup. And where you have the gravutchkabutchka, next to your shift key, we have cheese.

Hm. Not a single Shift key in that picture.

@Cerberus Mmm, I could do with some cheese about now.

But if you open the laptop she is holding on the picture, you will see chunks of cheese next to the shift keys.
@aedia Tell me about it! But the calories...

Oldie but goldie.

Not that again...

10:04 PM
Yay that again.

I am so never going to link you to my Facebook.

Too late.

@Cerberus Don't go telling me cheese has calories too? I was hoping beer, cheese and salad were still safe!

I will send my Predators and Tiamats to destroy your Facebook account.

I ransacked @Kosmonaut's hard drive, and all I got was this viscacha.

10:05 PM
That covers all my essential nutrients, right?

@aedia Hah. Oh, dear. Beer should still be OK?

@aedia You will puke'm out anyhow, as rainbows.

Nice image.

Oops, sorry. Did you say nice image?

Beside, all thattalk about beer's having as many calories as a slice of bread is a bit misleading, because who eats bread with nothing on it?

Turing tests are hard.

@RegDwight Very nice.
I bet those guys are very intelligent too.

@Cerberus As the Germans say, "Sechs Bier sind auch eine Mahlzeit -- und da hast Du noch nichts getrunken!"

NP complete

Six beer are a meal, too — and you haven't even had any drinks at that point!

Hmm..

10:10 PM
Something is wrong with those guys, seriously.

@RegDwight I understand the German and there being some reference to abdominal muscles... but I still don't get it.

Let's play Knock, Knock, Ginger.

Wrong?
Oh, wait, I think I get it: no muscles, just "drink beer as a meal, then drink beer as drinks too". Sorry for killing it.
@Gigili What's that?

Knock, Knock, Ginger or Knocky Door Ginger were the original names for the game dating back to 19th century England, (see name variations for other names) this game or prank is played by children in many cultures. It involves knocking on the front door (or ringing the doorbell) of a victim, then running away before the door can be answered. The game has been played since the 19th century. Victims of this prank are not likely to call the police, but if they decide to, the "doorbell ditcher" can face charges of trespassing and disturbing the peace, though in the United Kingdom trespass is...

@Cerberus: we have won the war, I have started another one.

10:14 PM
Good.
This new guy has quite a good deck. I have a similar deck in reserve, with Dahlia.
@Gigili Oh, that! Nice, I didn't know that's what it was called. I have done it only once, because a friend wanted us to, and I found it rather embarrassing, though we didn't get caught. I was such a goodie-goodie as a kid...

@Gigili The only name in that list that even sounds familiar is "doorbell ditching." I must confess, though, I can't remember ever doing it as a kid. Maybe at our own house to annoy parents.

I've done it everyday in the way back to home. the silly thing about that was we knocked same doors after a week and get caught many times.

From the pattern of the name, I thought it was going to turn out to be Duck, Duck, Goose, and I've got a lot of vague bad memories of that one. Brutal game. Always got tackled or something. I'm not sure it's supposed to go like that.
Duck, Duck, Goose or Duck, Duck, Grey Duck is a traditional children's game often first learned in pre-school or kindergarten then later adapted on the playground for early elementary students. The object of this game is to walk in a circle, tapping on each child's head until you finally choose one to be the new picker. Basic concept A group of players sit in a circle, facing inward, while another player, the 'picker' (a.k.a. the 'fox'), walks around tapping or pointing to each player in turn, calling each a 'duck' until finally picking one to be a 'goose' The 'goose' then rises and c...

Was a healthy game, though. better than what some kids (some goodie-goodie kids) did

@aedia What's the fun in that? If you're the new goose, just pick someone new, and sit down? And if the guy you picked was faster and sits down where you were going to sit, pick another one?

10:32 PM
@Cerberus I didn't say it was fun. I remember playing it. I don't remember having fun.
@Cerberus I think you've worked out all the strategy, yes. I think, now I'm looking at it, I mostly played this version en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duck_duck_goose#Mush_Pot where there's an element of shame as well

Hehe ok.

You run as fast as you can, because you don't want to lose your spot in the ring and get stuck in the center for potentially the rest of the game. But the kid chasing you cares just as much and is willing to bring you to the ground. It sucks.

With tackling?

In gym classes the tackling wasn't 'allowed', I think, but it was tacitly endorsed.

Yeah I didn't like violent games either.

10:37 PM
Dodgeball was really the only one I liked and that's 'cause the balls we used didn't hurt.

Hmm I didn't even like it with those soft balls.
Being hit is a bit humiliating.

I wasn't too good at the throwing bit but it was always valued to have someone who was small and managed not to get hit early. It was the one violent sport where I could do something.

Aww.
I liked ping-pong?

@Cerberus Ooh, I like that too. I didn't have as much of a chance to learn as I would've liked - didn't encounter it until, hmm, maybe high school.
If I ever don't live in a little tiny apartment I am totally gonna have a ping-pong table. Or a foosball table. Or one of those snazzy ones that transforms into airhockey-foosball-pingpong that used to be in all the advertisements.

Guys, I've just replied to this question... But I was thinking... Is it General Reference?

Q: Inputted or input?

benklugeI have used the word 'inputted' in an assignment and am being forced to change it to 'input'. However, both the Oxford English Dictionary (I am in New Zealand so this is most relevant) and MS Word list inputtted as acceptable. So I would appreciate some feedback on whether others regard inputted ...

It seems to be.
@RegDwight what do you think?
or also @Cerberus

11:16 PM
@aedia Good idea! It is always fun to find a ping-pong table somewhere on holiday or something.

@Alenanno I dunno. I think we could spice it up by searching a corpus or two. That will put the NOAD quote into perspective.
Okay party people, you gotta party on without me. Until in a few hours, that is.
Night all.

11:33 PM
Night!
@Alenanno Hmm... borderline. The fact that the spelling is somewhat controversial would make it acceptable for me.
