Q: Ability to flag for migration to other stackoverflow sites

user44191Currently on mathoverflow, flags can be set for questions to be migrated to meta.mathoverflow, math.stackexchange, and stats.stackexchange. However, there are often questions that belong on other stackexchange sites, such as cstheory.stackexchange, cs.stackexchange, scicomp.stackexchange, or hsm....

Thanks to Stefan Kohl also user with lower reputation - and no direct access to migration statistics - have at least some information about migrations from MO:
@MartinSleziak: According to the migration statistics, in the last 90 days, 39 questions have been migrated to math.se, six to stats.se, two to scicomp.se and one each to mo-meta, to dsp.se and to hsm.se. This suggests that migration to targets other than math.se and stats.se happens pretty rarely, and can well be done via flags for moderator attention. — Stefan Kohl Aug 9 at 12:26

Considering the catchy titles, it is not surprising that both Naming in math: from red herrings to very long names and “Mächtigkeit” versus “Kardinalität”? are in the HNQ list.

In general, you can write moderators@mathoverflow.net. In this case, I am almost certain you are referring to an action recently performed by me: if you don't have my personal email, I may be able to write you, with your permission, and you can tell me what's up. (Although, I don't encourage general users to reach me this way.) — Todd Trimble ♦ 1 min ago
@ToddTrimble I am not really sure what this specific issue is about, but I just wanted to mention that moderators have also another rather handy alternative.
Moderators can create private chatrooms where the messages are visible only to diamond-bearing users and users who are invited to that room.

@MartinSleziak Thanks; will keep it in mind!

Advantage of this is that the whole communication stays on Stack Exchanges site and it is easier to add other mods or SE employees to the conversation when needed.
The post A guide to moderating chat has a section called "Mod tools – private room access".
Of course, since I have never been moderator of a SE site, I never tried creating such room myself. (OTOH I have talked with a mod in a private room they have created. So I was in the role of regular user in this scenario.)

This also reminded me of: Would you like to see a MathOverflow Mods' Office? (I am not sure whether the question - and more importantly the answer there - is related to the today's question enough to be mentioned at least in a comment.)

@MartinSleziak Thanks as always for your information. As I made pretty clear then, I don't want a Mods Office.

BTW since you happen to be here, some time ago you pinged me on meta regarding this feature request: Could there be a warning when a new tag is created?
I'll get back to you on this issue within a few days, Martin. Seems very reasonable to me. — Todd Trimble ♦ Jul 21 at 20:33
Of course, the definition of few days can vary from person to person. :-) And I know that you have also other stuff (for example, you promised Mike Shulman to get back to his question on meta).
But since you happened to be in chat, I thought it might be a good place to mention this. (Of course, I can remind you the feature request again later - perhaps in a month or two.)
I've sent a message to the SE Community Team about this now. — Todd Trimble ♦ 39 secs ago
That was fast!
Thanks!

It had been on my mind; thanks for the poke.
