Q: Where did the reputation go?

Alex M.Some time ago, it was decided that reputation should no longer be displayed by default, but users had the possibility to opt in to see it, as explained by Ben Webster. I had opted to see reputation, but today I have just noticed that it is gone! Gone is also the "show rep" link in the achievement...

To me the wording seems a bit harsh: "Are the moderators making changes to the site again without consulting with and informing the community?" and "even the most open and democratic people tend to become dictatorial when they get into positions of power."
We all have enough experience with the MO moderators over the years - nobody really expected that they're going to be able to properly maintain the script that hides reputation. (Or that in case of problems, then necessary changes will be made quickly.)
And maybe it is only problem on the OPs side?
When I check MO, I do see the show rep/hide rep option:
And if choose "show rep" the reputation is displayed to me:

A: Where did the reputation go?

Asaf KaragilaStackExchange is constantly evolving. Since the script is maintained by the moderators, and we are not notified in advance about these changes, we have no choice but to be reactive. Changes happen, users point out the script is broken, we fix it, they publish the new script. Insinuations of dicta...

So there is actually some problem? Things are displayed normally to me, as shown in the screenshot posted in the MO chatroom. — Martin Sleziak 11 mins ago
@MartinSleziak: Weird, it seems to affect users non-uniformly. — Alex M. 8 mins ago
@AlexM. It is my dictatorial privilege, apparently. Nobody said you can't criticise people, or complain about changes. — Asaf Karagila ♦ 5 mins ago
So now that at least one other person confirmed that there is a problem, maybe the tag (bug) could be added to the question? I guess now it can be considered a bug report. — Martin Sleziak 18 secs ago

@MartinSleziak: Bug reports normally contain bug reports, rather than annoyed complaints. I have little to work with. What browser, OS, any js blocking add-ons, if any, are being used? Which platform is the site accessed from? — Asaf Karagila ♦ 4 mins ago

@AsafKaragila: Firefox 106.0.2, Windows 10 Home 21H2 64bit. The bug also shows up when using Firefox in troubleshoot mode or with a new user profile, so it cannot be caused by extensions or user-preferences. — Alex M. 17 mins ago
For me things seem to be working ok in Version 107.0.5304.62 (Official Build) (64-bit) under Windows.

Sorry, I meant to write: Google Chrome Version 107.0.5304.62 (Official Build) (64-bit).

@AsafKaragila: The oddity is that the problem does not manifest itself on Meta.MO. Also, my "show rep" is still missing, unlike yours. — Alex M. 4 mins ago
I think hiding reputation was never applied on meta - it was only on the main site.
Maybe it is mentioned in some other places, too - quickly I was only able to find this comment:
@domotorp the "show rep" is only applicable on the main site, not meta. When you click "privileges" you are brought to the main site, so the "show rep" becomes visible. — justhalf Jan 20 at 19:26
@AlexM. IIRC hiding rep was never applied on meta - only on the main site. At the time it was mentioned, for example, in this comment. (And maybe in some other places, too - but this is what I was able to find quickly.) — Martin Sleziak 21 secs ago
