The posts "Derivative of reputation score over time is identically zero" and "My answer got upvoted, but no reputation increase?" are essentially duplicates - both are asking why no reputation was gained from upvotes on a CW answer.
However, the newer question has more detailed answer. Moreover, it has the title more suitable for searching. (If somebody has the same problem and searches on meta, they are more likely to choose reputation than derivative as a keyword used in the search.
So I think it would make sense to close the older one as a duplicate of the newer question.
In fact I have already voted to close in this direction:
However, my experience is that on meta only very few users check the review queues - so close votes on the older posts often go unnoticed. That's why I though it might be reasonable to mention this here.
And maybe I would also ask @ToddTrimble what he thinks about closing the above duplicate in the way I suggested. (You're a mod and you are the only person present in the room. Sorry for the ping, if it bothered you too much.)
If I may ask also one short unrelated question about your chat presence.
I have noticed that your avatar is often shown in this room.
Here are some screenshots which I mean:
If I see your avatar, can I expect that you are likely to read what was posted in the room at some point? Or is it simply that you did not leave the room and remained logged in chat?

Here is a SEDE query showing recent close votes reviews on meta: data.stackexchange.com/meta.mathoverflow/query/1258387/…
You can see that quite often the result is "invalidated". One of the possibilities when this happens is when the close vote ages away before enough users vote either to close or to leave open.

Hi Martin; thanks for asking. I don't think I'll close the older one as duplicate, but I can leave a pointer there to the newer version. As for your other question: I keep a tab open for this chat (one of many tabs). If you find it distracting, I can close it. I don't check in as often as I should (actually, this computer was in the shop for a while and so I didn't see it at all during that period).

@ToddTrimble No, I certainly don't find it distracting.
I just wasn't sure whether that means that you're really here, so I was curious. (There was also the possibility that you're still logged on from some computer which you don't use too often - as yu said.)
Thanks for the response!
As I said, to some extent it was curiosity. And to some extent it is also useful to know whether seeing your avatar means that there is a chance that you notice what is posted here.
It's good to know that it is intentional.

There's a smallish but nonzero chance I notice the chat without being pinged. But I can up the frequency.

I am pretty sure that if some MO user has something to ask you in chat, they will ping you. (And, as shown above, sometimes there are pings also from people outside MO.)
