With the caveat that I don't fully understand the mechanics of "uncasting the final moderator vote," I will say that I like fedja's suggestion of undeleting the thread and then letting the community decide whether to delete the thread. Like some others, I'm slightly concerned about "ideologically-motivated deletions" (for lack of a better term), but I'm more concerned that the community can't undelete the thread now, simply because Todd Trimble did something that even he now acknowledges was a mistake. If that acknowledged mistake can be undone then I'm in favor of doing so. — Timothy Chowyesterday
I highly doubt that mods can do this. (But maybe somebody proves me wrong.)
Just to clarify, I think that the mods cannot simply invalidate the final vote. What they can do is to undelete the question (which cancels all delete votes). But probably this is clear to everybody.
