It seems that the deleted question about jokes caused some discussion on meta (so far three questions related to this).

I did not find Tell me more about system design in the Internet Archive.

Since some users consider a problem that the question cannot be undeleted by votes from regular users, I'll just mention that there is this feature request: Allow community votes to undelete Q/A that a moderator has deleted. (Although my guess is that it is unlikely to get implemented.)

As far as I can tell, this is the only instance where mod "votes" cannot be overturned by community: Which actions by moderators cannot be reversed by community?
Of course, a moderator can delete and lock the post - which prevents undeletion by community, even if the feature mentioned above is implemented.
