Q: Deusovi - trapped!

Omega Krypton I have been trapped in a void I know nothing of. There is nothing but four plain red walls, annoying me very much. Thanks to my experience in Puzzling Stack Exchange, I am observant to find a small switch at the corner of a wall. Curious and seeing it as the only possible way out, I pressed ...

3:14 PM

Maybe you should apply for PSE moderator

but i need your bounty to end first
@MrPie r u serious?
with only 6k
10x less then current mods?

@OmegaKrypton I've seen a moderator with 300 rep

! where

No joking. I forgot where, but he exists. And he has white hair and a big smile on his profile picture
Something like the sci-fi stack exchange.... not sure.
Maybe he was a moderator by default because he built the stack exchange

scifi is rand's land!
@MrPie yep

3:23 PM
Like this guy:

@MrPie Community moderators

Grace Note has 101 rep on some sites and is a mod everywhere

Grace Note and hairboat

they are employees in so i think

3:24 PM
yes

nvm them then

@OmegaKrypton well, you are younger than all of us, right?
And your puzzling skills are better than ours
So that's saying something

how old are u?

15

@TheSimpliFire?
im 14
@MrPie nope... im only more addicted to pse than u r
lol

3:26 PM
Hahah

@OmegaKrypton same as @MrPie

I was supposed to make a riddle every sunday... and then I ran out of ideas
I couldn't think of anything. And then when I stumbled upon anagrams, oh boy o-boy o-boy

same here... no idease
jafe's stuff is so good

jafe should work for microsoft XD

3:27 PM

Q: Introducing Gladys, an intrepid globetrotter

jafeGladys has always led an active life full of adventure. As a retiree, she has a lot of free time on her hands and loves to spend it on her two favourite pastimes – travelling and crossword puzzles. Today she embarks on a long journey that will take her halfway across the globe. She will send us p...

this series...

If he can make puzzles like that --- EVERY DAY --- then God knows what he can do

agreed

I already upvoted that :P
favourited too. Very noice
I invented a puzzle I was gonna share on PSE. I still have it... but I don't have the skills to form algorithms and get a unique solution.
So I have had to find a unique solution BY HAND. Work out EVERY POSSIBILITY
I gave up not even halfway through

like may i try helping out?

woohoo, 19/20 :)

3:30 PM
or write a program

Three days in of working on this puzzle and my mind was fried.

my damn dimn was scrambled
as always

Yeah, it's a grid puzzle. I haven't written the rules down... crap... so I have to rely on memory.

Lost a mark because I thought jeux de sociéte was society games which makes no sense

lets relax, shall we?

3:31 PM
I can't find the paper now because it's 1:32am in the morning, but I will tomorrow. And then I'll get back to it

@OmegaKrypton I'll try, though I have 5 more exams to go

...and stop procrastinating...

@TheSimpliFire garyau
frm hong kong'

@MrPie That applies to pretty much everyone

@MrPie garyau = add oil = keep it up

3:32 PM
加油
Cantonese transliterations are sometimes quite amusing!

not sometimes
always!
@TheSimpliFire

I need a glass of milk

A change in intonation of 加 results in 'marry oil' :)

xD brb

lol
@TheSimpliFire not something water would ever do

3:36 PM
haha
@OmegaKrypton It can be forced by emulsifiers though...
a forced marriage :/

:(
and could you also downvote one random q/a
im reaching 6k
and i want an exact number
pls...
thx

Aaahhh

@OmegaKrypton ? you have 5967

Spongebob's trick of drinking seamilk before bed works like a charm

3:38 PM
Downvoting gives you either 5966 or 5965

5965
then 35 more and then 6k
mod 5 = 0

DONE! @OmegaKrypton

thx
and pls dun +1 for a while...
serial voting reversal...

I didn't
Well, I did, but I didn't upvote after the bounty

3:40 PM

Oh, it rounded. You are on 5998

@MrPie I was messing about ;)

3:41 PM

Tactical voting has a heavy price ;)

enjoying this moment of wholeness
a milestone in my pse life

@OmegaKrypton looking at your bio...
...would you like to collaborate with @Alconja one day?

Are you O.K? Yes, I am ;)

3:42 PM
i would like to express my deepest gratitude to @TheSimpliFire and @MrPie
@MrPie why are u asking
that would be nice

@OmegaKrypton xD I didn't do that much :)

Collaborate?

that was old

@OmegaKrypton the last line of your bio suggests that

with what?

3:43 PM
@Alconja: the master of all puzzles

better than @jafe (sorry @jafe!)

or 'Tom'

3:44 PM
heh

Why'd you say Tom though?

I might need to change my bio...

@TheSimpliFire THANK THE HEAVENS YOU MESSAGED THAT
BECAUSE I MISSED OUT ON HEAVEN MYSELF

Q: Anagram holiday

Tom Virtues, we devour and restore, usher a puzzle. Related to the above sentence, find a six-letter word, which anagrams to gives words starting with each of the five different letters of the word.

(if there was prime numbers, it would be heaven)
(oh, and some ballet)
The four-letter word is STOP, TOPS, OPTS, POTS
The three letter word is EAT, ATE, TEA

@MrPie I think I should start writing again once you've reached 100 million on PARI. Otherwise, if something changes at say, 50 mil then what I've written wouldn't be representative of the general trend

what is PARI?
sorry if im dumb
lol

3:49 PM
PARI/GP is a very efficient programming language

The two letter word is NO, ON (or AT, TA if you consider "Ta" to be a word)

@TheSimpliFire ooh

I can't find a five letter word -- or six letter word

and sorry ive gotta sleep now, see you tmr

@MrPie And always 'rats/tsar'

3:50 PM
@TheSimpliFire RATS, ARTS, TSAR, STAR
Another one. Thanks for reminding me!

room topic changed to OK's 屋企(home): (no tags)

@OmegaKrypton :P
"Virtues, we devour and restore, usher a puzzle." is such a weirdly phrased sentence, but.
idk. Probably replace the words with synonyms. My only guess

@OmegaKrypton yay

STARE is the five-letter word
Actually, that has STAR in it, so this looks like a pretty good combination of letters
Don't know how it relates to the puzzle
TEASER could be another word for "puzzle"
Agh, I'm gonna be here forever. Let's get back to PARI
No further updates
@TheSimpliFire I think PARI is getting slower for me, the more results I get

@MrPie How about I help do some running?
You continue up to 50 mil, and I start from 50 mil

3:57 PM
@TheSimpliFire yeah, that would save time

You've currently done about 1.8 million primes
pi(50 000 000) = 3 001 134 so I'll start my function there
Damn, one PARI program takes up 43% of my CPU :/

jeez
Oh wait, my PARI is slow because I got the other tab looking for 24/13-like exceptions

I'll abort the one I'm doing and start the sieve

exceptions with 24/13 thus far: [31177] [783787] [1511227] [3221497] [3342667] [6037387] [6152227] [6260587] [7221157] [10776847] [14948737] [17070787] [17211037]

We could move to the other room as there's more stuff

4:01 PM
2,4,6,2,30 or 4,2,6,4,26 (I forgot which sequence they fit in)
Oh, ok
TEASER is an anagram of EATERS and EASTER
