@RoryAlsop If you watch all the things, I am really surprised, why you don't talk to him more. I am sure that I could handle all the problems he causes with a little talk. Not witk talk from the power position. Many things what he has done, would be nothing to little if anybody else does them.
@Muze Yes, this is what you should do. Show very clearly that you want to follow the rules, probably it will help a lot. Some mods will still suspend you for anything ("you don't listen".. "you don't improve"... such things are they saying), but many of them won't.
@RoryAlsop Reinforcement learning would work to him. He should get often, easily, but short punishments. Mods could decide to do that, it is exactly your task, do understand and handle such things.

@RoryAlsop Check what he did. He bought a hazmat vest, removed the shielding from it and replaced it with a cooling system. Even if it was an amateur try, this is not the skill level what would deserve a year on the Engineering SE.
@Muze Furthermore, it is also very important: the CMs should see a young titan, a raw diamond, if they are checking, what are you doing. Then they will let the whole problem to the site mods -> you will be able to use always the sites where you aren't suspended.
@Muze If the CMs see a "cross-site troll", they will suspend you for 10 years on the whole network.

@RoryAlsop I don't know, how does it works, and no one knows.
@RoryAlsop However, I think my many years SE experience and careful watching of their decisions, their communication, and the relation of their communication to their decisions, I think it is nearly the most what an ordinary mortal can get.
@RoryAlsop I think I know the help & meta pages. I am not very satisfied with them, I see a typical parkinsonisation in them: everybody wanted to insert everything into them. The result is a long text, full with details, tuned for "political" goals and not for clarity.
@RoryAlsop I also don't want open conflict with the PSE mods.
@RoryAlsop Can you see mod messages of other sites, i.e. sites where you are not a mod?
@RoryAlsop Can you see the suspension history of users on other SE sites, where you are not a mod?

@Muze why? You shouldn't need to be pushing the edges. If you really want to know, ALL of this is on meta.se
@Muze it CAN be that much in physics as if you ramp up suspensions on other sites to a year and then do the same thing on Physics, you can't expect to start again at 3 days. Nobody is going to stand for all that hassle again
@Muze you are explicitly told not to do that. Both in the help pages, and to you specifically, as you keep wanting to upvote people! Do not upvote people. Only upvote good questions and answers as you see them.
@peterh literally everybody has tried to talk to him. Mods from numerous sites. All the things he had done are wrong for anyone. He is not getting special treatment. Everybody is now fed up trying as he has not listened or changed his behaviour.
@peterh that is also nonsense - seriously. It is utter nonsense. Mods use suspension as a last resort. You are giving Muze bad advice, which is likely to help him get into more trouble
@peterh it hasn't so far. He got lots of short punishments, he didn't learn so they got longer, and longer, and now we are at a year. If he joins another site and does the same things - he can not expect special treatment and going back to 1 day.
We will not give someone preferential treatment
@peterh the two things are completely orthogonal ie that is irrelevant. I could be the world expert in a topic, but if I caused problems and kept breaching rules I would end up being suspended as well. We have suspended absolute experts before
@peterh meta.se has almost everything you would need to know. You often seem to want to disagree with how things work - this is because you only see your individual view. If you just settle for believing the system is as described, you'll get on much better
@peterh I see the majority as completely accurate, and the ones that aren't are worded that way to help the majority understand them. Nothing political - again, you are reading something weird that doesn't exist into them
@peterh mods communicate. It's what we do. When troublemakers move to new sites, of course we are aware

@RoryAlsop I don't want to be a trouble maker
@peterh no not piss off the mods on my behalf. You made your point and its my turn to show I can follow the rules.

@called2voyage I have been taking advise.
