@David At least for a bit :) Honestly, I tend to leave once the room looses activity, and then I don't think to come back until months later.
The last time I checked up on the room, it was frozen. Kind of sad and scary.

I was just looking at the hat leaderboard, and SE really has some serious drama going on...
There's plenty of technical competency among all these sites, we should make a new SE from scratch fixing all the problems, making it open source, and allowing a distributed self hosted system, as well as a centralized system.
Whoever runs the centralized system could always become corrupt, but if the open source project is licensed properly, the distributed setup would remain safe.

@VRM Yeah, I'm pretty much with you. I'm not particularly invested in SE anymore, so seeing all the stuff that's going on with ads and than the whole thing with Monica makes me thing abandoning the site for something else would be better than trying to fix all the bureaucracy...

Nice. I'm pretty disconnected from all this stuff now. I'm studying music in college so that's pretty much my profession focus and my hobby.
It's weird for me because I used to have some idea of what was going on in the fields you work in but I really don't anymore.

@VRM It's performance. I don't know if you remember, but I'm a percussionist. My focus is ultimately on Timpani, but right now I'm studying marimba.
On the side I'm messing around with composition, and more recently, some electronic music production
