Can we discuss the fact that you can do bpy.data.objects.data.objects.data.objects.data.objects.data.objects.data.objects.data.objects.data.objects.data.objects.data.objects... <SIGSEGV >
@NoviceInDisguise I have left them, but they do a good job, DO is vps (which is basically a console & a bunch of really well written support articles) so its not for the faint of heart. But on the plus I can do crazy things like run an Apache and a nodejs server at the same time and such.
@NoviceInDisguise Ah, good o'll ajax, I wrote a hole site that does nearly everything with ajax, even validating form inputs (I found that eaiser on the server).
@NoviceInDisguise Okay
@NoviceInDisguise have you been hired, I've always wanted to contract out some webdesign...
@GiantCowFilms I haven't ever been hired so to speak, but I am developing several sites for a new startup business that uses remote sensors, etc. and I have to visualize the data and keep it updated, and also be able to configure the device from the webpage. Some rather gnarly stuff . . .
@GiantCowFilms Sure is! A good skill to have. As far as data, I get a .json file I call, which I visualize either in a table or a graph, and then I have to refresh that data frequently, not only that, but many of the values can be set, so I have to use not only Get .json calls but Put .json calls. Another thing is the site has to be able to adapt to changes, so that if a value has a name change, another is added, or functionality changes, it still works. 90% of the website is built dynamically.
@GiantCowFilms My dad specializes in embedded software, so all the sensors etc. that I write the web pages for are programmed by him, and so I can also get him to serve the data from the devices in whatever form I need.
Google mail makes it so easy to sort things . . . filter them all, apply tags, delete, skip inbox, etc. just by the sender or keywords. A real time saver for me.
