> In January–February 2002 it was clear that NaN could not survive, and would close the doors in March. Nevertheless, they put out one more release: 2.25. As a sort-of easter egg, a last personal tag, the artists and developers decided to add a 3D model of a chimpanzee head. It was created by Willem-Paul van Overbruggen (SLiD3), who named it Suzanne after the orangutan in the Kevin Smith film Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

Suzanne is Blender's alternative to more common test models such as the Utah Teapot and the Stanford Bunny. A low-polygon model with only 500 faces, Suzanne is often us

Q: unexpected reactions in a quiet simple rigidbody physics simulation

DeveloperTry the following scenario: scene: Add a cube; add a icosphere; move sphere on X axis until less than half sphere intersects the cube. make a duplicate of sphere; apply boolean on cube (difference with sphere); add a plane; move it just a little below of them. physics: set rigidbody for a...

is there a way to check if all faces are quads?

@PeterVaro Try the Mesh Lint addon.

thanks, one sec, I will look at that
@gandalf3 is that an "official addon"? I mean I can't find it in Addons

It's an external addon (see the link)
Here's a tutorial for it.

oh thanks I see now!
//I'm installing some command-line tools, but after I finished I will test MeshLint

Q: Suppress output of Python command (remove_doubles())

GarryEvery time the remove_doubles() operator is used, it outputs to my terminal (where I called Blender from). How can I suppress this output? The code is: bpy.ops.object.mode_set(mode='EDIT') bpy.ops.mesh.select_all(action='TOGGLE') bpy.ops.mesh.remove_doubles() and the undesired output is: ...

Q: Retrieve active spline from Bezier Curve

jimflimI'm just starting to get familiar with bpy.types and application modules, but I didn't find an answer to this: Concerning A Bezier Curve with multiple splines, is there a python way in EDIT mode to know on which spline I am working on (activated in the viewport) except iterating every single bez...

Q: How can I dynamically show objects properties in the UI?

jimflimI'd like to work on an Addon project to build facades from imported Curves. How can I dynamically display in the UI e.g. the spline's number of a curve and how many points it contains ? I've tried with an update selected_object method inside and outside the drawing function of my class but I'm n...

If a question is not asked as a bug report, but is discovered to be a bug later on, should it still be closed as a bug report?

A: Quick Smoke Domain is Solid Black

user1782The Correct Answer was that the Laptop was using a Intel Integrated Graphics Chip-set that currently bugs out when rendering in Blender 2.69. This is a Blender 2.69 Bug for that Chipset.

Q: Is it possible to render AO with the OpenGL render?

gandalf3Is it possible to render AO with the openGL render? I know there is a technique called SSAO which is used in some video games, so it should be possible. How can I achieve this?

Q: Where are the real time shadows?

gandalf3How can I render shadows with the openGL render? I know this is possible, however I thought this would work: The render engine is set to the BGE Shadow is enabled for the lamp And the viewport shading is set to textured with GLSL enabled. What am I doing wrong?

I wish there you were allowed to edit your own bug reports on the bug tracker..

@iKlsR Added a link to the question.

@gandalf3 something is wrong with your blender version
try resetting to defaults
you changed something somewhere

@iKlsR I just remade the scene after loading the defaults, and still no shadows.
Maybe an OS related bug?

@gandalf3 possibly

@iKlsR Are you on windows?
