Can we discuss the fact that you can do bpy.data.objects.data.objects.data.objects.data.objects.data.objects.data.object‌s.data.objects.data.objects.data.objects.data.objects... <SIGSEGV >
Segmentation fault

Manged to make it to the end (very fast reading though)...
I'm now covertly communicating :P.

5 hours later…
5:08 AM
Hey guys . . .

8 hours later…
1:31 PM
@NoviceInDisguise Hi

1:59 PM
Hi

3 hours later…
4:35 PM
Hello!

How is it going?

Depends what :-)

How do I save a js fiddle

I am honestly not sure . . .
You have to sign up/sign in.

4:39 PM
Hey, jsfiddle hosts on the same company I use to host the planet game. Great minds do think alike!

That shows up after sign in
@GiantCowFilms Or there is an adequate monopoly . . .

No
there are more companies then can be counted.

Reliable ones

Digital Ocean is simply the best
@NoviceInDisguise That too

4:42 PM
Fixed it
@NoviceInDisguise which one do you host your site with

I use the one my dad uses, I think it is Go Daddy.

@NoviceInDisguise I have left them, but they do a good job, DO is vps (which is basically a console & a bunch of really well written support articles) so its not for the faint of heart. But on the plus I can do crazy things like run an Apache and a nodejs server at the same time and such.

You're sight is quite nice, but you should finish it :D

I should . . .
I have the Photo section underway, I just need to get around to finishing it :-P

4:48 PM
You only write client side code if I read correctly?
No server stuff
@NoviceInDisguise What camera do you use?

No servers, yet. I do deal with live data by jQUERY and Ajax calls to .json files.
My camera is a Fujifilm, which I am hoping to upgrade when I get some cashflow going . . .

@NoviceInDisguise Ah, good o'll ajax, I wrote a hole site that does nearly everything with ajax, even validating form inputs (I found that eaiser on the server).
@NoviceInDisguise Okay
@NoviceInDisguise have you been hired, I've always wanted to contract out some webdesign...

@GiantCowFilms I haven't ever been hired so to speak, but I am developing several sites for a new startup business that uses remote sensors, etc. and I have to visualize the data and keep it updated, and also be able to configure the device from the webpage. Some rather gnarly stuff . . .

@NoviceInDisguise Ooo cool!
@NoviceInDisguise "visualize data and keep it updated"?

5:04 PM
@GiantCowFilms Sure is! A good skill to have. As far as data, I get a .json file I call, which I visualize either in a table or a graph, and then I have to refresh that data frequently, not only that, but many of the values can be set, so I have to use not only Get .json calls but Put .json calls. Another thing is the site has to be able to adapt to changes, so that if a value has a name change, another is added, or functionality changes, it still works. 90% of the website is built dynamically.

@NoviceInDisguise Nodejs would be good at that (the planet game is very very dynamic, which is why I chose node)
@NoviceInDisguise Gosh that can be a pain...

It is OK once you figure it out, but yes.

Did they just find you on the internet, or was there some tricks to get the job?

@GiantCowFilms I had been doing some design, but my Dad actually is the Software engineer, so I am kind of an extension of his position.

@NoviceInDisguise Ah yes, my dad writes software too :D! but not webdesign.

5:10 PM
@GiantCowFilms My dad specializes in embedded software, so all the sensors etc. that I write the web pages for are programmed by him, and so I can also get him to serve the data from the devices in whatever form I need.

Okay.
@NoviceInDisguise when did you start homeschooling? I'm giving you the full interrogation here

When I was born :-)
BTW, I am having an issue in BGE

@NoviceInDisguise lol :D
@NoviceInDisguise Okay, doubt I can help.... but say it anyway

In viewport
In game
Why are the objects disappearing?

Correct render layers.
Both rendering and view are not turned off in the outliner?

5:16 PM
All on the same layer
It renders on F12 just fine

Blend?

@NoviceInDisguise Upload Blend?
Those are some sweet looking robot legs by the way.

OK . . . be a sec.
@GiantCowFilms Thanks!
@GiantCowFilms Here it is.
Textures were not packed, so it might look funny. The issue should be the same.

Okay lookin
okay, I have to go.

5:29 PM
Bye!

I'm back, but I'll have to go very soon!

Alright

I changed the shading from multitexture the glsl
It made one of the object come back....

Hmmm . . .
The hoses are curves, are those supported in game? Probably not?

@NoviceInDisguise Ah, Alt-C!
Fixed it!

5:36 PM
Cool!
Works perfectly!

The middle piece is still missing though

The bone int the back
lower

GLSL fixed that

6:01 PM
I fixed the slideout bug!
with Zach's help
cool new trick too: li:hover .elem {} apply styles when parnet is hovered over....

1 hour later…
7:18 PM
By the way, ILM put out some more VFX breakdowns... youtube.com/user/ILMVisualFX/videos

3 hours later…
9:53 PM
@GiantCowFilms Sweet stuff! Can't even imagine what power it takes to do such complex simulations!

1 hour later…
11:20 PM
simple solutions to your problem @NoviceInDisguise being added now. making a demo

@NoviceInDisguise They have entire building filled with computers
Picture of an ILM render farm (Those symbols on the side come from the starwars universe )
@iKlsR I assume your catching up on the transcript.... Probably would take less time to read a novel! :D good luck.

@GiantCowFilms I wish, I am currently going through close to 300 emails with about a dozen apps updating in the background.

@GiantCowFilms What the ! ! ! I could have so much fun with that much horsepower!

@NoviceInDisguise :D I dream of working there... So much cool equipment and software, not to mention hundreds of super-smart people to learn from.

Me too . . . got a ways to go :-(

11:25 PM
@iKlsR Wow that is allot of email! Its been days since I've got any (google alerts don't count)
@iKlsR You could probably finish a hole series in that amount of time.

Mostly newsletters, digests etc. On average I get close to a dozen daily but not keeping them trimmed made them pile into a monster.

Google mail makes it so easy to sort things . . . filter them all, apply tags, delete, skip inbox, etc. just by the sender or keywords. A real time saver for me.

@GiantCowFilms Ha yeah.

@GiantCowFilms That is a funny comic strip!

11:31 PM
@NoviceInDisguise Yes, I saw it on Andrew Price's twitter feed.

11:43 PM
@NoviceInDisguise what kind do projectiles do you need your turret to fire?
I'm making you a proper cannon
