Winter Bash! 2018 edition

Under a week to go, time for this year's room.

some house keeping:

"WB" means Winter Bash

remember the time zones! (example you will get the solstice hat on Dec 20th 1000 UTC some 14 hours ahead of when the solstice starts.)

For hats with "post" in the trigger that means it has to be positively scored (zero does not cut it).

don't do anything stupid to get, or to try to get a hat.

have fun, there is lots of time. No need to rush you have till Jan 5th.

@David no. That’d need more planning than I am willing to invest.

I’ll enjoy what I can get, maybe do something extra like cleaning up old comments, but that’s about it.

@Stephie same. :( I still have this "problem" with the winter bash. I really like it. Yet I do not have the time I use to. I have not done any prep yet this year.

I mean I'd like to go for first again, but I doubt that will happen.

never know, SE has dumbed down the triggers, so maybe still possible.

yes I sure can. it has never been a problem in past years, the room would just fade away with the bash. However I see there are some more then zealous bashers keeping this room alive.

Still can't believe the WB is only 6 days and 1 hour away! that came quickly. I still remember the excitement of finding the new secret hat (Mother of Dragons) and figuring out its trigger like it was yesterday.

@Tinkeringbell nah, I always have had problem with flagging my on posts.

I know there are reasons to do so. but you loose either way. Either I get a flagged post, or a rejected flag.

@David I went guns blazing a few years back, got pretty high up there (for a small-siter). Last year I made (and kept) a resolution not to chase any and still ended up on the top handful for my site... so I'm pretty content to just sit back and trust the gods will shower me with hats =)
