Also, when you don't have a specific technical inquiry and are just looking for a code critique, you should post on codereview.stackexchange.comMarsAtomic 13 secs ago

You can have your code reviewed on codereview.stackexchange.com - Stack Overflow is not the place for that. — Cow 17 secs ago

Zoe SmithQuick question. Is the code you have working (a hard requirement)? Then this seems more like a request for a code-review which should be posted on the code review SE site. — Some programmer dude 57 secs ago

First of all thanks for the extensive tips. Really appreciate that. Didn't know of the code review site unfortunately but will use it from now on. 1: The clarification on the run task is really helpful and I will implement that. 2: I have left it out for minimality but I have a terminate function in place using a boolean to prevent other threads from queueing. 3: Very good point. Will do so 4: Didn't know about 'packaged_task' yet but definitely will look into it. Big thanks again for the extensive help — SillyGoose 59 secs ago

@SillyGoose regarding the code review site: To be fair, your question will get more views here and questions such as "is there a bug here?" or "can this be made faster?" are still fine on SO. Just make your question as explicit as possible in this regard to avoid it being closed or moved — Homer512 53 secs ago

This may be better suited for codereview, and as a codereview note: Having a length limit on passwords isn't a great idea. Let it be billions of characters if the user wants it. You'll ever have to store anything but the hashed password anyway. — Ted Lyngmo 55 secs ago

@CaptainObvious Needs one vote to close, could be saved it title changed and the rest of the code was added.
@pacmaninbw If SE didn't get the message by now, there's no hope.
I'm still (mostly) on strike, just slightly less strict.
@pacmaninbw Closed.

Q: Company outsourced testing; how can we encourage programmers to stop overly relying on testers?

Arseni MourzenkoA friend of mine is working in a 200-employee company. The company's business has nothing to do with IT, but they do have an IT department to work, among others, on their website, used by the customers. The website started with a core idea that programmers have to test the application themselves...

@SᴀᴍOnᴇᴌᴀ LOL
maybe the moon is blue
@SᴀᴍOnᴇᴌᴀ Maybe I can get the count below 3000 in my vacations
My tab backlog is built like old hot network SE questions are on the left side (closest to the pinned tabs), in the middle there's a whole load of Google-fu from various problems and at the end there is stuff I recently checked
I should get to the middle part but for that I need to get rid of the endings first

Q: Todo App with vanilla js

Benjamin SmusThis is a super simple Todo component, I was trying to go for a react-inspired approach (functional components) but without a library/framework. Just want to know if the code is actually OK or kind of gross. TodoApp.js: "use strict" // Essentially the state of the TodoApp. class TaskGroup { ...

Q: A slightly unconventional CMake project

DanIntroduction This is my first CMake project. I had a bit of help with the initial setup but I have since made a lot of changes myself. @Chris-G That's unfair to judge by comments! Firstly, the comments were posted simultaneously to my answer, Secondly comments are by definition comments and not answers. Furthermore, I was not doing a full code review, I answered his specific question to which the solution was the correction of the position of the return statement. — Shmuel Greenberger 53 secs ago

If he ask for a code review, this is not the place for it, his question will be downvoted to oblivion and will be closed for not asking a specific question. I think there is another page where you can ask those kind of questions — Chris G 31 secs ago

This question is probably too subjective for stackoverflow. It will probably be better received on codereview.stackexchange.comBrian 57 secs ago
if you post on Code Review please read the help center pages like How do I ask a good question?. One must be certain that the code works as expected, and the title would need to be updated to summarize what the code does instead of asking for feedback. — Sᴀᴍ Onᴇᴌᴀ 21 secs ago
