@Mast I've occasionally referred users to codereview - when I'm at least 90% sure it's appropriate - with this comment: "This question is probably better suited to Code Review. However be sure to take their tour and read their How to Ask page before posting.". Do you have any feedback with regards to the comment?
@Nick The comment is a great deal better than what we usually encounter.
I must say that your POV sounds a bit extreme to me, but if you feel that strongly about it, I guess I could actually start pretending CR doesn't exist entirely. I don't have any particular vested interest in that site, so I'll defer to your judgement until I hear otherwise.
You said your application works, so what exactly needs to be "fixed?" Stack Overflow isn't meant to improve your existing code (you should check out CodeReview for that). Please take the tour and read How to Ask. Then if you have a specific problem with updating your application, you may ask here. — Zephyr 30 secs ago
I understand that it would be ok to redirect users to CR when I'm sure it's on-topic there, but that's simply not going to happen; I spend a lot of time on SO, and a fair amount of effort understanding what's on-topic there, and I still get it wrong fairly regularly.
I don't have the time, or the inclination to spend that much time figuring out what works on CR, and certainly not to spend any time in a chat room working it out, so I'll just avoid it entirely. Thanks for explaining your POV, I appreciate it.

Note that your second question really isn't appropriate for this site anyway. If the code works and you just want someone to say whether it's written how it should be, that's a code-review/software-engineering type question and belongs on another site (if you can make sure you present the question in the manner required for one of those sites). Consider e.g. codereview.stackexchange.com and softwareengineering.stackexchange.com. — Peter Duniho 43 secs ago

Hi, these kinds of questions are not well suited to Stack Overflow, which is intended for specific programming problems. You may want to try CodeReview instead. I will say that worrying about 'optimizing' is not really helpful, especially on samples as small as this, or when you are learning. If the code works, then it works - writing better code is a skill which comes with more practice. There is not really anything specific that anyone can tell you here. — lawrence-witt just now

Welcome to Stack Overflow! Before you post at Code Review, make sure to read A guide to Code Review for Stack Overflow users, as some things are done differently over there - e.g. question titles should simply say what the code does, as the question is always, "How can I improve this?", and we need to know the code's intent more than mechanism. Be sure that the code works correctly; include your unit tests if possible. You'll likely get some suggestions on making it more efficient, easier to read, and better tested. — Toby Speight 30 secs ago
