Q: Javascript generator functions aren't as DRY as I'd like

BonteqI'm iterating through a list to generate calendars, the issue is each generator function has the same this.addToCalendar() function. I'd like to know how I could condense this into only being called once, rather than in each function. The main generators I'd like to look at are the ones within me...

@CaptainObvious Gone.
@RMunroe Never seen that notation before, (MSTE(AR)CD)
It's not regex.
Apparently that's the textual version of a Euler diagram?
@CaptainObvious @Mast can you help me figure out if the code provided has anything to do with Python an PyTorch?
@Peilonrayz Looks a heck of a lot like pure C.
Yeah I thought so, thanks!
But the 'Full code' is behind a log-in link, so...
@Peilonrayz It's quite possible they've written a C extension for PyTorch, but it's not exactly clear how they're using it.
C extensions in PyTorch. (scroll down)
10:53
@Mast Yeah possibly the 'full code' is related. What matters for tags is what is in the question, which looks like a whole lot of C but no Python or PyTorch.
It's manually formatted as C already.
@Mast Oh what a strange situation, lol
As for the tags, sometimes usage is relevant. Otherwise we could drop the tag entirely.
I hope we can agree; getting people who like embedded on your embedded question is good. Getting Python people on your pure C question however?
@Peilonrayz That's why it has 2 tags, both C and Python.
I'm assuming the full-code will have at least a bit of Python in it though, and without the full-code the question isn't reviewable either way.
If the C is called through Python, there has to be Python somewhere...
I think we're basically in agreement here.
11:11
@Mast Tagging from what isn't in the question isn't really helpful IMO.
But I'll leave the qusetion
(Hate when I move my laptop and accidentality press enter before completing what I was typing 🤦‍♀️)
11:59
@Peilonrayz Agreed. I'm trying to say the Python should've been part of the question. It's left out. That should be fixed by adding the code, not by removing the tag, I guess.
@Mast I agree. Is one of the ways to fix the problem

Neil isn't in chat, but I'd still like to see if my comment to them makes sense:
@neil, I don't even mean arbitrary angles. here are some example grids (all right angled): algorist.com/images/figures/bin-packing-R.png i.stack.imgur.com/JG3iT.png codeincomplete.com/articles/bin-packing/packed.png I would edit them in, but I don't know if my algorithm works on those, so i worry it would change it from a code review problem to a code not working (aka Stackoverflow) problem — Pureferret 2 hours ago
14:31
@AncientSwordRage I think the comment is fine. But I also understood what you meant from the 1st revision. I don't think Neil understands the problem you're trying to solve.

Hey @Mast; since I have categorized all questions about close reasons I was thinking of starting on actually making Wonderland somewhat useful. Do you have any ideas on how to improve the content, layout of information, etc? example page (Note: The current content is unreferenced and likely to be wrong.)

@SaratchandraMV Declaring the variables outside the loop was a VB6 thing. The VB.NET compiler will move the declaration from inside to just before the loop, so you can keep the variables inside the loop where they belong. WinAuth is open source, portable and everything. On Github.

@Vogel612 Trying to port this to chat, poorly.
chat does not support inline html
17:34
I don't think HTML is allowed in chat right?
Nope.
And I knew that.
@Mast We could link to them. However the focus is to be an accessible index, so finding the references for different rules is easy.
Also giving a short explanation seems like a good idea so if you see something you don't know you can learn it in 2 minutes rather than reading tons of fragmented answers.
@Peilonrayz So it's mainly like the Frequently posted comments post?
I don't understand how an index is related to comments. What do you mean?
This is a poor index of sorts.

I was just wondering how to protect for this if, let's say, I have this protocol in a library. Technically my library code is sending a message to this sector and causing a crash, but I guess it's still on the consumer since the implementation is incorrect. Just tested what happens with a protocol from UIKit and same issue (e.g. using a custom subclass in the textViewDidChange: delegate). So if Apple doesn't protect against this I guess there's really nothing that can be done. I guess checking that selectors conforming to protocols have the same type is good to look for in code reviews? — SeeMeCode 48 secs ago
