the wheel's speedup is PROD( p/(p-1) ) for p in wheel. taking wheel = {3,5,7,11} it's 2.4x speedup, and with 13 it's 2.6x. So, not even one order of magnitude. The prime 2 gives 2x the speedup, so technically it's ~ 5x speedup overall, but it is so easy to skip over evens that I'd say it doesn't count. — Will Ness 26 secs ago

@SimonForsberg Haha, don't bet on that yet. ;)
I was thinking that I could use it to analyze the recipe chains in Factorio, I did manage to run some built-in algorithms on my data (which items produce which other items etc.) but I was never able to really interpret the results.
13:01
Ah, we're doing a similar thing, so I might actually be able to help with that.
If you don't have the APOC libraries installed, I recommend them.
Factorio is the only domain I have been able to come up with a real use-case for Neo4j, but I haven't been able to come-up with a real clear use-case that I could possibly do.
@202_accepted APOC?
@202_accepted You're also analyzing Factorio?
@SimonForsberg No, we're doing something similar with network devices and other things.

A couple notes: 1. Replacing std::uniform_int_distribution<int> dist{0, 5}(eng); with eng() % 6 reintroduces the skew factor that the std::rand code suffers from (admittedly minor skew in this case, where the engine has 2**31 - 1 outputs, and you're distributing them to 6 buckets). 2. On your note about "srand takes an unsigned int" which limits the possible outputs, as written, seeding your engine with just std::random_device{}() has the same problem; you need a seed_seq to properly initialize most PRNGs. — ShadowRanger 6 secs ago
I'll not comment on the multiple design issues as you are clearly still learning and that would be too much for this question (you could ask on the codereview site for that) but have a look here: outfile.printf("\n<belowAvg>" , studentNames[i]); - you are printing the start tag (which you see in your output) but don't use the supplied name. You'll want to add %s to your format string, i.e. "\n<belowAvg>%s", to have the name added to the string that's printed. — Thomas 35 secs ago

@bommelding: MemoryStream is unusual in that regard, yes, and nothing really prevents you from doing so, but I also see no point at all. First, it's best practice to dispose locally constructed disposable instances using the using statement. Most static code analyzers will complain about not disposing the object, and you have one more thing to explain during code reviews. Second, accessing members of a disposed object should be almost always avoided. So I would prefer using (var ms = MemoryStream()) { x = ms.ToArray(); } any day of the week, if I really need to return the buffer. — Groo 1 min ago
