@Mike: What's your point? It doesn't matter if it's an intranet site or some people that don't currently have programming experience or access to Google are the only one's using it. That's great. We have slightly different rules here, please read them. What you did was not so much wrong as that it risks reviewers reviewing your newly added code, which creates a problematic cycle as some answers refer to revision 1 and other to revision 2. Thus we rollback - not because it is wrong to want to say what you did, but to prevent reviewers from wasting their time. — Pimgd1 min ago

@zʏᴀʙiɴ101 The problem ended up being that GitBash was taking the default user.email that was associated to my Windows account and pushing it via that which 99% of the time either wasn't the proper email address or wasn't even set. Had to go into git --config and set it manually
Can you not simply do SequenceEqual?
var list = new List<string> { "test1", "test2", "test3" };
var list2 = new List<string> { "test1", "test2", "test3" };
var areListsEqual = list.SequenceEqual(list2);
replaces the entire problem with a single function call
