A: Shortening JPA criteria query boilerplate

Unfortunately this is jpa criteria specification problem. Consider using mysema querydsl (www.querydsl.com). It has much more concise syntax. Documentation contains jpa criteria comparisons, see this blog http://blog.mysema.com/2010/04/querydsl-as-alternative-to-jpa-2.html?m=1

Also remember that if you need to say 'and' when describing a method, you probably need to break it down into smaller chunks

The fractional part is in binary: (0.01010101…)2=(0.333333…)10. To convince yourself of this, try multiplying the binary 0.0101010101… by 3: you will get 0.111111…=1.
