Q: Simple CRUD server in rust

intentionally-left-nilMy first rust application :) I tried to pick somewhat low level dependencies to get a feel for the language particulars. I'm especially interested in control flow/error patterns in rust as I had some initial struggle. update_comment is also a mess. I tried for a good hour to genericaly convert a ...

Q: How can I reduce code duplication using Traits in Rust?

Thinker-101This post is long, so please bear with me. Also, I have asked the same question on SO, but it was closed because this question seems opinionated. However, a user responded this in comments Traits, and interfaces in general, aren't meant for code deduplication. They're meant for code decoupling. T...

@skiwi Serious gaming is done on PCs, not on laptops. Laptops have heat issues and their graphic cards simply aren't as powerful.

@Mast Hmm I think you can get the right specs in a laptop these days, but not sure if you want it on your lap then

@skiwi It produces a boatload of noise and heat, it's going to cost you more for the same performance, it won't survive as long and all the while it will suck up dust like a vacuum on highest power.
You can get a pretty good CPU with relatively low power nowadays, but the GPU is still going to get hot and you somehow need to fit all that video RAM next to those cores too.

@Mast A lot of service games target mobile, so if a phone can run Fortnite, Minecraft, PUBG, Genshin, etc a laptop can.

@Phroggie Well, yes. But you don't need a gaming laptop for that. Any decent laptop with a higher-than-average would suffice.
In that case I'd get an engineering laptop.

Yes, buying a gaming laptop is dumb because games don't really need much power any more. ofc you can't run Cyberpunk 4k 200hz raytraced hdr... but no-one can

No affiliation, but I do happen to have one of those for work.
At least one from that series.

4:17 PM
True, I wouldn't advocate for gaming laptops either

4:47 PM
@Phroggie Do you have experience with pygwalker?

No, the graphic looks cool tho. Too bad I can't read the text

5:05 PM
The github has a video in the readme.
Which zooms in every so often to make the text readable.

Q: How ready is my CPU emulation library for full release?

themirrazzI've started to work on a JavaScript library called vCPU with the purpose of providing a framework for emulators. vCPU is designed to be able to emulate multiple types of CPUs, with setup only requiring opcodes, memory, creating registers, and sending the clock signal - thus helping save time by ...

pepinI'm currently working on a project that involves two stations: a transmitter and a receiver. Please keep in mind that I'm a beginner. On the transmitter side, I'm using an ESP32, HC-12 433MHz module, GPS NEO-6M module, BME280 sensor, and a microSD card reader. The goal is to send data from the GP...
