hardcoding. root of all evil.

aww you remembered

should Rubberduck 2.0 keep that identifier for your highness? Hosch250 has been working on the about box lately, if you want it changed, now would be a good time :)

haha
Yeah you can change it
might be easier to handle with all the horizontal space

yeah
:)

9:17 PM
lol
that was not the intention

haha! how does that happen?
looks like Rubberduck's hand-crafted resolver works better than Roslyn :)

Might I point you to the Code Review site of Stack Overflow: codereview.stackexchange.comChad 57 secs ago

in VBA Rubberducking, 2 hours ago, by Mitropoulos Mitropoulos
when I saw some of that evil code in the issue history I ran it though our legacy 'parser' (not really a parser, but i digress) and it totally crapped out! haha

I just trigger the analyzer on every identifier and check whether the identifier is one of those like Single, Int32, String, etc
but I neglected to check if the identifier actually represents those types
and not an enum with those strings as values or, here, a method with such a name
Tracked in github.com/Vannevelj/VSDiagnostics/issues/400 now, but it's not on Roslyn ;-)
But aside from that and a few other small bugs, all warnings that get triggered on Roslyn.sln can get their fix applied without a problem
That makes me pretty confident in the code

@Mat'sMug Your copyright year needs updated :)

copyright year should be the year it's first issued anyway
it shouldn't be updated
(c) 2014 is enough

bah

@JeroenVannevel They usually range it.
First year of issue - current year

yeah, but it's pointless
you just have to update it every year
for no reason
DONT DO STUFF FOR NO REASON

You're supposed to update it anytime there's a "significant" change.

You didn't get any response because this isn't really a Stack Overflow type of question. The more appropriate site is Code ReviewSally 11 secs ago

Q: Increase permutation calculation efficiency

ReturnVoidI have the following program running & has so far been taking several days straight & yet to finish. So just wondering if there is any way it can be optimised or better structured to reduce this as it is taking to long (& yes I realise there's a lot of calculations); struct NumberSets { std...

@JeroenVannevel It makes the project look actual.

As a side-note, once you fix the spacing issue, you should probably post this to code review. — Barry 31 secs ago

Q: GIS Feature Labeling & Removal of None or Empty fields with python

BarrettI was using dictonary key:values but sometimes the keys would have the same value so my items were 'disappearing' out of the dictionary. Now I use this simple counter to group my values from a list (0,1) (2,3) (4,5). I think the if functions might be able to be combined, as well as perhaps settin...

Hi.

hey @Hosch250

Back from the job fair with bad headache (likely from the perfumes, or something--they often make me sick).
The two companies I was most interested in working for I can't contact the recruiter because I don't have their information.

Why not?

I have about 20 polite emails to send and a few to seriously follow up on.
A few said they would contact me later.

11:34 PM
Unless you've posted the wrong code, I don't see any loops. Plus, it would help to understand what's happening to code in order to be of any assist. We're not code reviewers. Perhaps you're looking for codereview. — aribeiro 29 secs ago

Because the recruiter wasn't impressed,

Maybe.

@user1829325 I am going to use a custom Parallel.For when I need it codereview.stackexchange.com/questions/48804/…Den 14 secs ago

One place didn't even offer me a business card.

If you were a job seeker at a job fair, why do you have 20 polite emails to send?

11:38 PM
I am supposed to email the recruiter and thank them for their time.
At least, the U said that is expected.

Wow
Remind me to set up spam filters for .edu email addresses...
If I got an email from every job seeker I talked to, I would go ballistic.
I mean, did you give them your resume?

Maybe I am only supposed to contact the ones I want to follow up on.
Yes, a lot of them took my resume. I gave out 2 dozen.

Then you have to email 2 dozen people probably...
And you probably shouldn't had your resume out to companies you don't want to work for.

I didn't know of half or more of these companies before the fair.
I don't follow the medical companies, which is one of the biggest industries in MN.

11:42 PM
You didn't find out before you decided to give them your resume?

How, I don't have internet access on my phone.

You have absolutely missed the point of the career fair

I talked to the recruiters...

not effectively enough apparently

Bother :(

11:44 PM
I mean, you should have some idea what would rule out a company for you... And ask about that
"Are you guys looking for [some position that describes the sort of job you want]?"
No? Then move on.

I asked if they want an IT internship.

Its not to say you'd filter them perfectly, but you should've been able to do much better than 10ish%

3 months can't kill me, as long as it lets me take the class I need to graduate, I don't mind.

Exactly the candidate I'd want to hire: "working here can't kill me", "it's only 3 months"

I didn't really tell them that.
Really, only about 2-3 asked about my experience and skills, most of them seemed to expect me to move on after handing out their stuff.

11:47 PM
I'd expect not, but your attitude can be perceived.
I don't want to work for a company that expected me to move on after handing out their stuff, but I might ask them what they are even doing there.

it's quite easy to tell the difference between someone who is enthusiastic and who isn't in third person
That's one thing I learned from dating. I would assume the recruiters could perceive it too

I have about 7 or so that I really was interested. The ones I was most interested in didn't give me personal contact information. They told me to apply at the company's webpage.

You should always insist on getting a personal email address and always have something handy to jot it down on

OK. I did have a notepad to write things on.
I wrote their names and the company name down.

I have given my personal email address to those who insisted
And it will help them remember you if they aren't giving it out freely

11:53 PM
Mine is on my resume. A few said they would email me.

Yes. They said that.
Not all of them will.

So, I guess this was a total waste of time.

And trust me, at a career fair on campus, most resumes look the same.
Not a total waste, but probably not as perfect as it could have been

OK.

How long is your resume?
