@SimonForsberg I think OP will understand that, as our 3 answers point out, the loop should stay there even if there was another way to do this.
Which is fun, we all have the same opinion

I have posted it to codereview as @cel advised. I am still open to any suggestion that improves the performance of the code. — Adham 26 secs ago

why would someone need any code to load up data into Excel?
OP isn't telling us what he's doing and why.

@Mat'sMug Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V - That's how I load data in Excel :)

@Phrancis well that's one way...

When end users don't know how to use a computer, exporting to excel can be kinda great :p

3:08 PM
how do you know they're exporting anything?

But yeah, there are so many ways to get data into Excel somehow (theirs included), it gets me wondering what kind of source they have for the data

for all I know, OP could be using ADO.NET boilerplate to send a SELECT query to some database server, load it up into a DataTable, and then dumping that onto Excel.
and that would be overkill

@Mat'sMug That's why I want to see the actual code doing the Excel bit.

I don't really like the question either, but I guess it can be reviewed anyway.

ODBC would probably do a much better job at it, if that were the case

@Phrancis bingo
@rolfl ..congrats? ;-)

Which is why I kind of thought about the XY Problem after looking at it

Q is now on-hold .... sad.

@rolfl Yeah, I need one more upvote for that answer.
Me, personally, I would write the data to a CSV and then import that to Excel.

not hackish enough

3:11 PM
@SimonForsberg: Duga is slow as a turtle

No wonder Lifehacks has little traffic/participation.

@EBrown you don't need to write the data anywhere, if you hook up the workbook to the data source...

@Mat'sMug And risk exposing my SQL server to the rest of the network? Bah!

@JeroenVannevel OH RLY?

I just saw @Duga racing a snail. The snail won.

3:16 PM
@EBrown set up security? have Excel connect via a SQL user that only sees what needs to be seen?

posted instantly. I don't see any slowness.

@Mat'sMug Or have my service routinely report said data to the networked CSV file, and have users pull from that.
Because a lot of the data that is in that CSV file is time sensitive.

@EBrown you like complicated

3:17 PM
@Mat'sMug Well I'm not a cheap date, so yeah. ;)

@JeroenVannevel that's strange. I blame GitHub. Can you check the webhook information about that particular message? I haven't seen any issues with the comment-scanning, so I don't think there is a problem.

@Mat'sMug No it was me ;)

But read them from top-to-bottom.

you know, a more idiomatic way of tracking an interesting conversation, is to use the bookmarking feature. so underused.

@Mat'sMug I don't even know how to bookmark.

@Mat'sMug No, no I don't see.

3:32 PM
@Mat'sMug I'll take that wager.

@CaptainObvious Nice avatar

@IsmaelMiguel it's in the game

@Mat'sMug So, it's not broken? Just not working like the OP thinks it does?

I would be willing to be that the "error" he mentions is a submission error, not a code error.

@EBrown Same here

3:34 PM
it's kind of unclear

Because from what I can see, the code compiles (or should).

I asked in comments what was the error

@Mat'sMug I'm flagging the post.

We'll get feedback

Why would you flag it when a mod is literally discussing it right now in the chat
like
what would that accomplish

I hadn't even noticed it said "sucks" below "EA"

I know
Otherwise you would say their frase

Wow. You're flagging his post because his avatar says "EA Sucks"?

(I believe)
Yes
The flag can be deemed unhelpful
But that was what was agreed on meta.stackoverflow.com/a/272460/2729937

I don't even handle the flags and I've already deemed it a waste of my time

3:37 PM
I feel like this can be an appropriate flag, but I personnaly don't care

Basically: flag the post and explain it is about the avatar

@IsmaelMiguel the context is about A user has posted this question and it has a obscene user avatar

I think you're operating on a different definition of obscene
4

The avatar isn't appropriate
It's not obscene

@IsmaelMiguel That doesn't make it obscene.

3:38 PM
Just innapropriate

And that's what that Meta is about.

If I had an inproper avatar, I wouldn't mind being flagged
Besides, the flag can be deemed unhelpful

Well, there could be another Meta about inappropriate avatars. Why is there always such useless arguing over simple things. The flag will be treated by mods, isn't that ok?

And falls into oblivion

3:41 PM
@EBrown Darn

Also, got my car back from the body shop.

How many times you yelled at them?

3:42 PM
I feel like OP just doesn't want to edit his question to make it clearer

@TopinFrassi That's what we were discussing, and the one I flagged

Well, you were discussing over the avatar, which I don't care. I'm talking about the question itself!

The question itself was being discussed as well

@IsmaelMiguel I passed it along to the Community Managers. Not solely based on your flag, but other things came up as well.

Sure
@SimonForsberg Alright, thanks for taking care of it

For the record, there are plenty of more offensive things than "EA Sucks" in a profile picture.

I am so sad now. :( I lost my Mandelbrot generator.

@IsmaelMiguel Next time, ask yourself if you are offended. If not, don't flag.

@IsmaelMiguel I will. right now it's still technically pseudocode

@TopinFrassi No problem..... My English often sucks, but I can find the problems in others a whole lot easier than my own..... in other words, do as I say, not what I do. I think a lot of people are like that, so it all works out in the end.
