Yes! You can use and distribute code analyzers now
Time to take out my old project from back when Roslyn was arrived, it already has a few code analyzers
Those unaware: it's basically creating your own jslint/resharper/etc rules, including code fixes if you want to
Very powerful, very fun
I'll write it true open-source so others interested can join me
Though maybe there is an official package I can just contribute to

Q: Angular add Global Array or Object to Module. Recommended or not?

Kris HollenbeckWhen creating an Angular Module one could essentially add global arrays or objects to the module. Like so.. angular.module('myModule', []) .run(function() { // global to module angular.module('myModule').globalArray = []; angular.module('myModule').globalObject = {}; }); So here's ...

Q: how can I use recursion to convert a string to an integer in objective-c?

karan satiaWhile I have a basic grasp of the pseudocoding of this problem, it still evades me. I know that I have to have a few things to start, like a blank character array where I can store a split version of the string input. I need a boolean that will signal if the string input begins with (-), in whi...

If you wanna talk about running and managing your own servers, what SE site is best to look for?

@sᴉɔuɐɹɥԀ awesome, thanks ^^

So what turned your world upside-down @sᴉɔuɐɹɥԀ? :P

@Gemtastic April Fools.
Must've been the Stack Egg.

But it's may now? :P

If we don't vote the stack egg back in for CC, he'll be stuck forever, JK.

XD

I think he used the max number of names for a while.

@sᴉɔuɐɹɥԀ You know (and @Lyle'sMug too), that you cannot change your usernames more than 1 time very 30 days, right?

@sᴉɔuɐɹɥԀ Not quite so.

It has been growing on me though, might keep it for a while.

I changed mine several times during Winter Bash.

Q: If I want to re-review, should I open new question or edit old one?

yasarI have a question here: Tic Tac Toe game in Haskell I have followed the advices and edited the code, now I want a review for new version of the code. It is doing the essentially same thing, but it is 80% or so different from previous code. Should I open a new question or edit the old one?

I was at "hosch250", then I tried "Captain Obvious" to try for the name change hat, then I set it to "Hosch250"
Maybe it was because it had saved up for all those months I didn't do anything.
How about we combine Cookie Clicker, Minecraft, and StackEgg into one standalone application and then wave goodbye to life?
Oh, bother.
meta.codereview.stackexchange.com/questions/5231/may-2015-community-challenge/52‌60?noredirect=1#comment11033_5260
Maybe because it isn't really a link - just a meta-link.

@Hosch250 You're missing the http://

OK, apparently IceDragon doesn't put the http:// in the URL bar.
And, you all probably know this by now, but it is a clone of FF.

@Mat'sMug Were you the one who posted the Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe the other day?
That looks like a really good idea for my next app.

I'm tempted to look into Vagrant in detail
I want to code inside Windows though... for now

@skiwi Cool. That's what I'm using now.

Ooh, just 556 more words!
I believe I will actually need to trim it down a bit.

In this next app, I'm going to try using var and a couple other things instead of writing everything out.

@Jamal Does it work very nicely?
I must say I had my doubts at first, but a video looks nice about it

8:23 PM
I think it does. I can easily add/remove/modify files in my Windows folder and the changes are applied instantly on my VM, and vice-versa.

What VM are you using?

@Jamal That looks really cool then, I hope tomorrow will be a good day then ;) When I will test it, etc.

VirtualBox, running Fedora

I'm using Hyper-V just because Windows already has it.
It took a bit to get it connected to the internet because something about it connecting to my main system, which connects to the internet, etc., but it is working now.

8:42 PM
@Mat'sMug May I suggest changing the title of that meta question to something shorter and easier to reference? Like "Static tools for most programming languages"

go ahead!

Done! I think we got most of the languages on there today

@RubberDuck Don't you think that should be a CW answer?

@CaptainObvious It doesn't just seem absurd.

@rolfl @200_success @Jamal?
Actually, we probably shouldn't.
Just close/delete it ASAP.
Where are the mods when you want them?

I've seen questions sit for hours without being closed.

You can start by browsing the many fizzbuzz examples (FizzBuzz seems like a good "hello world" to start with) on this site, then pick a language you find most appealing, implement your own, get it to work as expected, and then post the working code here to get tips from this community! Good luck! (whatever you do, just don't start with lolcode! ;-) — Mat's Mug 2 mins ago

nah, your grammar is broken. that should parse correctly as an AmbiguousClosingParenthesisToken

Q: Are heavy selectors in CSS readable?

featherlight53Take the below code that I recently wrote: .navbar-inverse .emphasis-text, .navbar-inverse:hover .emphasis-text, .emphasis-text { color: #1caa98; /* Teal */ } While this may be a dryer way of placing teal on all these link items, would you consider this readable? It seems to me like there ...

Oh sure, do that by taking away the feature I use the most

@CaptainObvious That's a lot of noise in that code...

My family was trying MS's new face detector program thing on a bunch of ball players.
Of course, their batting helmets were covering a lot of the features, and messing it up.

A: Justify your review!

It will be, if I get it.

Q: Roman to Arab numerals conversion?

11:28 PM
@nhgrif good thinking! Have you written a "I know zero programming, where do I start?" post?

No.
I may soon though. That should be a linkable post...
Although... I'm not sure where I could recommend starting if you know absolutely zero programming.
And I don't intend to turn my blog into a zero-to-export tutorial site.

I think it would be good, @nhgrif. I feel sure a lot of people would like to see some experienced programmer address some of the utmost beginner questions (in a general way, not tutorial-style)

My next planned entry (which I haven't started writing yet... it's still in the shower-brainstorm stage) is about disassembling problems.

I might have a few ideas of how it could he laid out, though it's difficult to explain from my phone right now :)

Because I care about that.

You used to - you were spamming us with that link all the time.

That's when I needed coworkers.
And after the conversations that have led to me going to this new job, meh. I've got nothing negative to say, but I'm also not certain I want to continue pointing people that way.
