Gah, on my phone -- OP edited to include the revised code - someone has autocomments handy?

@Mat'sMug I'll get it

@joranvar Yup, but just replacing inits with subsequences fixes it

Thanks

@Caridorc No, that would also take "ac" from "abc", for instance. I was thinking of concatMap tails . inits, which takes all the tails from all the inits.

ZakAssuming the company knew your abilities (or lack thereof) when they hired you, you have nothing to worry about. Keeping your job is not about being the best. It's about expectations. Q: Macro to format a specific worksheet

Liking_VBAI am still new to VBA. I recorded several actions that I need to perform to ensure that a specific worksheet is formatted properly. Row 1 contains headers. Other than the headers, there is no data in the sheet when this should be run. I know that the raw code from the recording can be shrunk down...

@TopinFrassi Aye. In my case, there's a couple of people who are pretty handy with spreadsheets, but nobody technical, and definitely nobody who is interested in programming.
Which leaves the entire corporate IT management open for me to claim mwahahaha :)

@Zak Then you'll have your time to shine :p

@Zak I've downvoted it. I don't think one can simply hit "record" in Excel, and then dump the resulting code on here for us to refactor into proper VBA, and expect loads of upvotes. I'm willing to consider it on-topic (although it's really generated code), but I stand by my downvote. OP didn't even try to come up with something decent on their own.

Zak
@Mat'sMug I can appreciate that. I certainly wouldn't upvote it, but everyone's gotta start somewhere.

Zak
@Mat'sMug This is, ofc, highly subjective. But, my interpretation of what they were saying is, "Here's very repetitive code, which does things I understand. I'm sure it could be rewritten to be simpler, can you offer suggestions on doing that". If they'd written the code, I'd upvote them. Since they didn't, I think it's pretty neutral. It doesn't quite cross my line of DV-worthy, but I can easily see why it might for other people.
I guess for me, the key part is the (implicit) assertion that they understand the code they posted, and could have written something equally repetitive from scratch if they had to.

Q: What would be a better way to go about this code?

Kamanzi MunroeBelow is the assignment I was given and the coding is what I have came up with. I would appreciate criticism on how I did and on ways to have gone differently about it. Thanks. You want to number your random list numbers, so use an iterator to put the list numbers into a map (but keep the list)....

@CaptainObvious don't know. but there has to be a better way to go about this title

@SimonForsberg Thanks for the heads up. I keep forgetting to actually read the Brainduck commits. So many things to do.
> Below is the assignment I was given and the coding is what I have came up with.
What's a "coding"?
Can you eat that?
Is it like a co-ding? A ding that's supporting some other ding?

@Mast ding-ding!

9:49 PM
@Mast a "coding" is a code (e.g., ID or key) assigned to a certain item or set thereof, I've seen it used mostly for insurance. It definitely has nothing to do with "writing code" though

In English they are more commonly known as Dutch Doughnuts or Dutchies. In the distant region of Istria, now split into the countries of Italy, Croatia and Slovenia, a variation of this dish is called fritole, fritule and blinci. In Serbia they are called uštipci. IIRC you can't manually award it immediately, but sure you can certainly award it manually before the 7 days end

Oh, next question, since I lose the rep immediately, does that mean I could start a bounty as soon as I get close to rep-capping?
