Morning @Captian

Morning, @Mehrad.

Q: Generate random unit vectors around circle

Seanny123I'm trying to generate a bunch of uniformly distributed unit vectors around the unit circle. Here's my code, which is working, but unfortunately I have a for-loop. How do I get rid of this for-loop? import numpy as np import matplotlib.pyplot as plt import matplotlib as mpl def gen_rand_vecs(di...

@Mehrad Monking

Awww.
Seahawks barely won :(

11:11 PM
@200_success the OP seems to say the code works? Unless I'm reading it wrong...

I think he is saying that for the most part it works, but it doesn't work in it's entirety.

> The alert in Invert is nerver called. Did I miss some crucial step???? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
^^^not working

Would that be a good post for SO if they cut off some of the code?

Oh, Seahawks did not quite win.
They just pulled ahead.

Well, I think something is amiss, I don't see an alert in invert

11:13 PM
Silly brothers.

I'd say, other than SO, this SE site has the most active chat room(s).

Yup.

@rolfl Ah I see, OK.

Especially for Sunday.

I've been to others like Seasoned Advice and no one had said anything for 8 hours.

11:15 PM
I've seen chatrooms empty for several days.

Seasoned Advice is reasonably active

Q: Uppercase the initial char of every string in a list

SanciIt's a little more difficult than the title suggests, but i didn't know how to write in few words. My problem is that i have a sequence, potentially infinite, of strings. Let's suppose it to be {"Mickey Mouse", "Bugs Bunny", "Winnie the Pooh"} I have to make an exthension-method Initials that...

@SirPython The question no longer has an alert, though it used to.. The description needs to be upfated.

s/upfated/updated/

What about refacory?

11:17 PM
Looks like @user3144770 is going around killing Assembly Zombies.

You want to see a dull chatroom you should see Webmasters.SE's room.

Packers tied the game with a field goal!
14 seconds left.

Is there a football game going on or something?

Apparently

Packers vs. Seahawks.
Playoffs

11:18 PM
Oh

@Hosch250 14 seconds in (american) football is like 2 hours still, right?
How many commercial breaks to go?

LOL

No, overtime will be required.

Ahh, so 4 hours?

14 seconds in murica could probably squeeze in 30 or so commercials.

11:19 PM
The Seahawks get the ball and have to bring it all the way back down the field.

Especially Geico ones.

My family is Vikings fans, and think sports makes the world go around.
I dislike sports, so I am rooting Packers to be contrary.

@Phrancis The Webmasters SE chat room hasn't changed since that last picture you posted.

Case in point :)

My family doesn't like the Packers because they are Vikings rivals.
I think it goes until one team scores now.

11:20 PM
More of a hockey fan myself. I find football painfully slow to go through a game.
Have a 15 second play, then analyze it for 10 minutes. Then ads. No thanks.

Exactly
That's why I tend to watch boxing - the only commenting happens after someone has been knocked out.

They are listening to the radio.

@Phrancis That sounds like kockey.

Ooh a sports war.

I don't like boxing.

11:23 PM
You should watch rugby.... 80 minutes, two 40minute halves. No breaks, no commercials, nothing.

@rolfl Maybe they do that for Leafs games ;)

The clock never stops unless there's a break, or blood (break as in a broken bone).

If you have a DVR, you could always record a game and be able to skip through the boring parts.

Ahh, @SirPython - that's the problem.... when it comes to football, the boring prts are when people are playing.

Hah!

11:24 PM
the interesting part is the half-time show, the cheer leaders, the marching band, and the kissing-cam

I went to a baseball game once.

You got to watch grown men scratch their balls and spit?
2

The best part was the Air Force flyover because it was Memorial day.

That explains it all. It's Monday morning here and I assume Sun night in lots of places but it was absolutely nobody here. I talked to Captian for a while

Baseball is the epitome of boring.

11:25 PM
@rolfl That is good - but isn't that what monkeys do?

My brother thinks it makes the world go around.

@SirPython There's a difference between doing it to yourself, and watching someone else do it.

@rolfl I should flag you for that.

Did I offend you?

It is vulgar to the extreme.
@rolfl This.
I'm not serious.
But it is vulgar.

11:27 PM
Whew..

I mean, I'm not serious about the flagging.

You know, you're right, watching grown men perform regular scrotal adjustments, and masticating.
It is vulgar.
I don't know how people can watch baseball ;-)

by sitting behind the TV which shows baseball I guess.

Out of all the baseball and football games I've seen, I find that I never really watch the games. I just find the snack bar and hang around there.

And trying to keep their eyes open and sound excited when the adjustments and masticatings happen :P

11:29 PM
I think football is interesting, but it doesn't make the world go around.
Booo, the Seahawks won.

It only makes the ball go around

@Hosch250 That was a fairly quick 14 seconds of play there...

No fair either, the Packers didn't even get the ball.

I wish there was a way to be able to find a random zombie that fits a certain tag - I'm too lazy to scan each page of zombies.

No, it was in overtime.
It took several minutes.

11:30 PM
@SirPython Which tag?

@rolfl Any tag - right now, Assembly or JavaScript.

@SirPython what language do you do ? :P

You can do that?!?!
:O

@SirPython, do you look for Assembly zombies with your SirAssembly id?

I don't have a SirAssembly id - I don't even know why I have SirPython.

what about SirJava or even SirJAVA :D

@SirPython I'd have assumed that it was because you write Python...

If your goal is to find interesting unanswered questions… try a Data Explorer query.

11:33 PM
Stack thinks you're a C/javascript/assembly person....

I actually don't even like Python....
Well, I don't completely dislike it.

Monty Python fan?

@SirPython, so we ruled out one half (Python) now it comes the other. Are you a male or female :D

That might've been it.
I believe a male.

@200_success That query recommends this for me at #2: codereview.stackexchange.com/q/75392/31503

Q: Name Filtering using a Trie

rolflThis question suggests a different (improved?) implementation for searching/filtering names based on a search query. This is based on the question here: Name filtering in Java A Trie allows the prefix of terms to be used as a search mechanism. The Trie requires pre-processing the data in to a da...

11:35 PM
I think I found me a good zombie....
2

@200_success should we put our SE userID in there for the query ?
cuz when I put Mehrad it says "Invalid column name 'Mehrad'"

Use your Code Review userId, 46193.

Oh

Dinner time!

It could be friendlier. I didn't write the query, I just tweaked it.

11:40 PM
Where do you find that ID from again?

On the black navigation bar, click on your user icon, then look in the URL.

@200_success wow... never noticed THAT
thanks

You're welcome.

Or, look in the search box.
I just voted to keep this guy closed: codereview.stackexchange.com/posts/77922/revisions
Nothing was changed but the description.
Reading the comments, now, I'm not sure if this was right.
Should I vote to reopen it?

11:55 PM
Well, it's closed.

I tried running it on jsfiddle and it didn't seem to work
Of course, it could be a jsfiddle PICNIC error...

Isn't it kind of ironic how the revival badge is given when a zombie is killed?

RELOAD!
