@rolfl have some time for quick CR?

Your Socket question?

This one -

http://codereview.stackexchange.com/questions/61536/having-full-atomicity-against-all-the-threads-without-impacting-performance-or-t

@Webby - how much code is needed to get something running? Can I pull the code and test it locally>?
(as much as I love CR (and I do), it is easier for me to 'see' code in my system....).

Actually you cannot run this since it needs to hit my service from the background thread which is internal to our company network.
I can paste code in pastebin for your full flow understanding if you would like?

Yeah, do that (if you're allowed). I'll put it in eclispse, and look through it.
(play) with it.
(I see lots of .... in your code).

Is pastebin good for all these things or something else we can use?

Hmmm... I think I can figure it out from what you have posted.
So, hold off for a bit.

sure

You should know that I have done similar stuff before, but in a different way, which 'biases' me

I see
Just FYI
I have this code running in production for a while and it works fine and pretty fast
when all the servers are up and nothing is in block list
then I don't see any Timeout happening from future.get
but as soon as any server is down which we are not suppose to make a call from the main reader threads
I start seeing lot of client timeouts

OK, I saw your deleted question too.

10:56 PM
yeah that one has more detail by which you can get more understanding how I am making valid hostnames
if you want I can undelete so that you can get better understanding

No need to undelete. Pastebin an example of the stack trace (relevant part).
(Timeout excpetion).
Or at least point me to the line that fails.
(edit the deleted post?)/

Q: Why I am seeing lot of client timeouts if any one server goes down?

WebbyI know it's a pretty long question but I am stuck on this for a while and not able to understand why it is happening so providing as much details as possible. I am working on a project in which I construct a url with a valid hostname (but not a blocked hostname) and then execute that URL using...

@Webby - just because I am offering to help here, does not make the question on-topic on CR ;-)

sorry
I thought you wanted me to edit the undeleted the question
got confused

I can see the deleted question anyway.
(and edits you make to it).

10:59 PM
I deleted it now
sure
now I undersatnd what you said

My dinner has just been served, so I am off for an hour, or so.
But, I will keep this in mind

sure
But I cannot edit deleted question
This post is deleted and cannot be edited.

Oh, odd.
COmment on it?

comments disabled on deleted / locked posts / reviews
not sure whether this is feasible
let me try to come up with something on pastebin
for your better understandinng

Q: My first go at making a webapp using bottle, anything wrong with my initial setup?

Dimitri SHere is a screenshot of my setup: http://i.imgur.com/4vl7igc.jpg Here is the actual code: #activate python virtualenv activate_this = 'C:/Users/D/Dropbox/_mypyapp/learnbottle/learnbottle/scripts/activate_this.py' execfile(activate_this, dict(__file__=activate_this)) #import dependencies import...

@rolf here you go. I have copied all the necessary classes which is needed for the undersatanding purpose on the pastebin
This is my factory class -
This is my client class -
This is my task class -
This is my mappings class -
And this is my scheduler -
so the actual flow is, people will get the instance of DataClient from the factory and call getUserDataSync method by passing DataKey.
While getting the instance of DataClient from the factory, it will start the background thread which is in DataScheduler class which runs every 10 minutes.

And then the call will go to DataTask class into call method and then I use mappings object to make the list of valid hostnames which I need to make a call. And during the RestTemplate call if that server is down, then I will add this server in the block list so that we don't make call to this server. And as soon as the server is UP, background thread will update this list auutomatically every 10 minutes.
