11:00 PM
Second time hitting the rep cap, and it's already annoying. Perhaps I should go out and get a life today.

@Jamal Sounds like a plan!

For the next hour, at least.
The water is back on!!!

Argh, why do c++ streams have to be slow?
I have to parse some floats. I'm debating about switching from streams to either sscanf or strtod.

Q: Ready? Set. Fight!

Simon André ForsbergDescription This code is for 'fighting' two objects against each other. I am normally using it to make my AIs fight each other in one game or another. (Yes, I am using this in my Tic Tac Toe Ultimate game, which will be put up here for review later on). To do this, I am creating a couple of obj...

I really couldn't come up with more tags to add for that one

And Community raised a flag on it. :-)

Yeah, just noticed.
Welcome, @tech-17

Welcome!

Oh, it's the asker of the PHP question I answered earlier today.

hi guys

11:23 PM
Do you require assistance, or are you just visiting?

Okay!

@tech-17 We would love it if you would spend your votes on any questions and answers you find good on the site. Many of us are usually spending all our votes almost every day, so we need more help in voting for good stuff :)

i can do that yes, first time being on a site like this , call me a late starter. so i'm still getting to grips of how things work.
Votes, you mean like best answer or something

11:28 PM
You can vote for any number of answers. All helpful answers can be up-voted.

Any answer you've found helpful, whether it's on your own question or others. You can also vote for other questions. Accepting is for the "best answer," and it's different from votes in that you can only award it to one user at a time on your own questions.

Do you see the arrows near each question and answer? When you think a question is helpful and an adequate amount of thought went into it, click on the up arrow. If you believe an answer is helpful, do the same thing. If you see any of my questions or answers, upvote them immediately.

will do

By voting, you give reputation to other users. When people vote for your questions and answers, you get reputation. The more reputation you get, the more privileges you will get on the site.
And I'm out of chat-stars...
Oh, I got an accept, thanks @tech-17!

i get it. will do , people really do have a love for code on this site.
your comment was really thought provoking,

11:32 PM
Sure we do! We love beautiful code. And of course, we also love users who want their code to be more beautiful - which essentially, everyone who has ever asked a question here wants.

just a question guys

The "Tell, don't ask" you mean? Yeah, it's been helping me also a lot. If people would stick to that, it could make some aspects of programming so much easier. (Especially the code I have to deal with at work, with seems to go under the principle "The more you ask the better. Never tell anything to anybody but ask everybody and let all objects to anything with whatever they want anywhere")
Welcome, robot @syb0rg

Greetings @SimonAndréForsberg. It looks like I am the only one with votes left to spend on your question.
Hello @tech-17 and @jliv902

@tech-17: I would still recommend asking a new question for further review. It makes things less-confusing, and you'll receive more reviews on the new code.

Hi @sy

11:36 PM
Hello @syb0rg.

@syb0rg Yeah, you know how @lol.upvote is... :)

@tech-17 Welcome to Code Review as well, I see that you just joined today. Hopefully you can stick around! :)

@jamal will do @syb0rg WHAT? r u telling me people actually give up?

@jliv902 I believe I just gave you two badges :)

@syb0rg Santa gives badges, not you ;)

11:38 PM
this site is a gold mine for me, if you could see the look on my face!

@tech-17 Well, there are floaters that only come to ask one question, and then leave.
@tech-17 How proficient are you with PHP? I've been searching for a PHP guru for a while now.

@tech-17 I see the updated code in your question now. It's a good start, try implementing the other features of it, so that the output will be the same as your original code. Re-writing code to do the same thing but in a more beautiful way is what is called refactoring.

@syb0rg i am in the process of learning php, and the best way to learn i found is to engage the matter, GURU? i wish, but hopefully soon

If anyone wants to vote for me, feel free to wait for 20 minutes ;)

any of you know of a good site for OOP principles?

11:44 PM
@tech-17 I think I know a good one. Try this site. It's the best.

In computer programming, SOLID (Single responsibility, Open-closed, Liskov substitution, Interface segregation and Dependency inversion) is a mnemonic acronym introduced by Michael Feathers for the "first five principles" named by Robert C. Martin in the early 2000s that stands for five basic principles of object-oriented programming and design. The principles when applied together intend to make it more likely that a programmer will create a system that is easy to maintain and extend over time. The principles of SOLID are guidelines that can be applied while working on software to remove ...

^^ Totally agree.
FYI: The Monkey is close to rep-cap, but not quite there yet for today.

I can't give him any, I ran out of ammo.
Plus, I already have some zombies lined up in my sights.
@tech-17 Have you used up many of your votes for today before they are reset?

where do i check how many votes i have

@tech-17 Your profile will tell you at the bottom how many you have spent for the day.
I'm reading that you have voted twice.
You get 40 votes a day.
They are about to be reset in 15ish minutes.

11:49 PM
do you want me to vote on something? will do

@tech-17 Anything really, whatever you think is a good review, or a good question.
And of coarse, you could always look through the profiles of people in this room ;)

But please don't vote for a lot of posts at once from the same person. Doing so will trigger the voting script, which will reverse those votes entirely.

my local time is 01:00 am , almost time for work, let me check your profiles then im off to bed . cheers guys

@tech-17 Cya. Hopefully you will come back!

Later!

11:54 PM
@tech-17 Be careful how many times you vote for one person!

@tech-17 Time for work at 1 am? I'm starting to call it time for bed!

And make sure to read over the answers!

Oh, I also noticed; @tech-17 is from South Africa. @rolfl's gonna like that.

His upvotes on my answers will probably get reversed. :/
Too many too quickly.

Yeah, it's probably best not to mention the profile thing. We can do it since we're conservative about it, but not everyone.

11:56 PM
@syb0rg no , it is 01:00am now i start work 06:00am
beautiful sunny South Africa,
Dont worry wont happen again! My bad, i need to familiarize myself with TOC

@tech-17 They might not get reversed. I'm still learning the limits of the system.
Hello @Malachi

hey looks like @lol.upvote Mentioned my Answer.

Oh, prepare for reload!

I'm going to post some unrecognized newer answers to the CR Answers feed, is that all right with everyone?
