i assume that was a C# question, anyone disagree?
I think when I run out of Question votes I also run out of stars

@Jamal Thanks

I just used my last vote on that question

@Malachi Looks like C# to me

7:04 PM
it sucks that I don't get 2 rep per edit anymore

@Malachi You mean per edit?

@SimonAndréForsberg that is what I said

@Malachi Lol, yeah... right. You want 2 rep for a chat edit too?

I see a creepy pencil there.

would be nice

7:06 PM
(Removed)

I'm with Rolf on this one, (removed)

The problem with looking on CR over lunch is that all the voters are out of ammo.

@Malachi I guess there's nothing stopping you from posting a feature request

@rolfl I hear that

What's the time for you guys right now anyway?

7:08 PM
14:07

@rolfl 6 hours difference from here then, and one minute. 20:08

You just type slow

lol

1:08 PM

108 here have to get back

7:09 PM
@rolfl Well I didn't speand 6 hours typing it at least

@SimonAndréForsberg you type so slow I can measure where you are in the world by the dopler shift in your response.

I can't Star that Message @rolfl
that was funny

Thank you, thank, you, I'll be here all week

@rolfl Or you could just check the location on my profile
Starring it for you, @Malachi

Really, I should fill my profile in.... sometime.

7:12 PM
@rolfl You get a badge for it!

Yeah, but it' so 'personal'....

@rolfl: Is that why your avatar is a baboon? :-)

Well, yeah, I try to keep my face off the web.
I am 'old school'... no twitter, no facebook, no linked in, etc.

@Malachi How did you vote 161 times this week?????? that's not fair!

@rolfl ... and you know COBOL...

7:17 PM
What if this particular baboon never wanted his face on the web, either? /jk

@Jamal I asked his permisssion, he never said 'no'.

@Jamal the baboon is cc-wiki

No it's not, is it?
It is my photo, I never put cc-wiki on it.

Well, baboons cannot speak, so this is good enough for me.

@rolfl you did, when you uploaded the picture :)

7:19 PM
ahh... perjaps.

@retailcoder, you can only vote so many times on questions, and so many times on answers. let me see if i can find the post

Malachi really wants that Electorate badge...

@Malachi yeah, and you can only vote so many times per day! ...so there is such a thing as zombie-looting?

meta.stackoverflow.com/q/90202/200242 check the comments here.
there is something with the 10 extra question votes and the 5 votes remaining warning setting in stone how many votes you have left
so there is a way where you can get cut off before you reach a total of 40 votes in a day. I don't know the specifics though.
it says that I have voted 43 times today.......

Interesting. It explains why you get [badge:suffrage] at 30 votes and [badge:vox-populi] at 40.

7:29 PM
so there must be zombie looting, and it still counts on the vote total
BTW 3 Question Votes away from Electorate

But not how you could cast 43 votes in a day... unless... you voted on a question/answer that got deleted?

I vote fairly evenly on answers and questions.
and I am up to 99 down votes
almost at 11%
968 and 99

I try to do that too, but the target-shooting brought my answer votes up faster. 20 downvotes to this date.
425/561

when I initiate a close I usually downvote the question. and I have downvoted some questions that were horrible to read, and weren't very clear

966 up /20 down

@Jamal can you find out exactly how one gets a vote back, and why it doesn't affect the daily vote count?

Q: Am I correctly adjusting image brightness?

George ProfenzaI'm trying to do something hopefully simple: change the overall brightness in a resulting image if the overall brightness of the source image is past a certain threshold value. My logic so far is fairly naive/simple: get the difference between the target max. brightness and the source image ov...

Just retagged the above with - is that correct?

@retailcoder: What I do know is that a deleted question will return your vote.

@Jamal then this is it - @Malachi got 3 downvotes back when the posts were deleted. I'm putting zombie-looting back into the memes :)

7:38 PM
@retailcoder Considering the statement import java.util.*; I believe it's Java, yes.

@retailcoder I approve this message
@retailcoder you are ahead of me by 14 points again, dang

@Malachi Zombie looting: when you've downvoted (upvoted?) a question that ends up being deleted, and then you get your vote back. The vote count doesn't deplete though, which means zombie looting allows you to appear to have voted like 43 times on a single day, and steal the show on the voters tab.

I have the most votes for the quarter too
I am also half way to Copy Editor Edited 500 posts

@Malachi ...by 5 votes!! Don't you miss the vote cap a single day till the end of the quarter :)

CR is the 2nd beta with the highest traffic!

I like looking at this once in a while as well.
@retailcoder I artificially Starred this message
1264 total rep this quarter I have gained

@Malachi only look at the top 10 users on that page, add up the rep; then look at the previous week and do the same; go back another week and compare, and one more week back - the week CoD Mission started has essentially doubled the amount of rep awarded to the top 10 users of the week!
CR is the 11th beta site with the highest Answered% - if we manage to get it up to 95%, we'll be 3rd :)

hmm but actually I found out there is a programming language called Processing
Processing is an open source programming language and integrated development environment (IDE) built for the electronic arts, new media art, and visual design communities with the purpose of teaching the fundamentals of computer programming in a visual context, and to serve as the foundation for electronic sketchbooks. The project was initiated in 2001 by Casey Reas and Benjamin Fry, both formerly of the Aesthetics and Computation Group at the MIT Media Lab. One of the stated aims of Processing is to act as a tool to get non-programmers started with programming, through the instant gratif...

@Malachi: Could you also consider a better title for that question?

and I think processing.org is the official site?

@Jamal will do that shortly

While we're on this topic, does someone want to give a tag wiki for ?

I'm a dev - to me is like a bag to hold all kinds of stuff. Best I could do.

@rolfl you there?

I have no idea about this kind of code. I just slapped together that title because it seems much better than the generic one.

@Jamal I cheated
@Jamal what code are you talking about? reference link?

Anyway, now that you all have tag wiki reviewing privileges, adding new wikis should be a quicker process (plus rep can still be gained).

check out the Title? do you like @Jamal. I am still working on my title Editing Skills

@Malachi: As am I, but it's weird doing so for code I don't understand.

this answer is getting overlooked because it is at the bottom, but I think it is the most important answer to this question.

@Malachi edit it into the top of your other answer then :)

@retailcoder you just wanted me to lose 10 points so I am back behind you huh?
we are tied for the moment

(busted!)

lol

@Jamal, if someone voted on that answer that I removed, but they voted on it 3 days ago, do they still get a vote back?

9:02 PM
I think if you undelete it the upvote is still there, my thought would be no.
I think only questions can be looted :)

Q: returned votes when question is deleted

Malachiif I vote on a question/answer and it is deleted 3 days later, (and I am out of votes today), do I get that vote back for today?

...those deleted by a moderator - 404'd

I got an answer quick on that.

@tintinmj I am now ....

9:11 PM
I did .....

hmm actually i was thinking of adding some point
but due to my exam study I don't have much time for testing and debuging codes

Feel free.... I got called in to ameeting, and had to hurry up and post before you answered it.

i think of two points
1. this is a classic sum of subsets problem an i have a code from a blog looks like ideone.com/g4BWni

@tintinmj - feel free to criticise my code too .... I have a tough skin ... ;-)

@rofl no i don't want to criticize your code just want to add some point

9:14 PM
You are encouraged to add multiple answers.... so answer just the points you feel are missing.
There is no 'competition' for the 'best' answer (although mine are always the best ;-) )

2. populateSubset() should be invoked by only populateSubSet(array) and the recursive should be private helper method IMO

Q: Simplifying the if else statement

user2809564I am trying to simplify the below if else statement. I think, it can be simplified - Algorithm is like this - if user_ptr exists, then lock attrmap, find user_ptr. And if it is a batch, then don't ping. And else if user_ptr doesn't exists and if it is not a batch, then do other stuffs but if ...

hmm actually I don't have much time for code testing...

You are right, but..... for pretty much all 'homework' questions the entry point is a 'main' method, and the concept of correct encapsulation is broken.
I have a habit of only coding the problem I see, which was the recursive method, not the bigger problem which may be something else entirely (and not described in the question).
Invariably, you are right, that the presentation is important, but, the presentation was not the point I was trying to make ;-)

;)

9:18 PM
Anyway, I can shut CR down for a few hours, I have maxed my rep for the day.... again.

@rolfl you max out rep, I max out votes :)

@rolfl later then?

Yeah, I have to get home, deal with kids, the good things, you know.

that StackOverflow Meta Question put me over 200 rep on Meta so I got a Silver Badge
@rolfl that is awesome. I have a 4 day weekend and then I go to texas for 4 days, I am going to miss my Kids and my Wife
the Yearling badge

@Malachi if you accept Servy's answer you'll be at 210 meta-rep :)
