You should tell me all about your process.
I tried jumping to a next chapter eliding questions of no interest, but I felt I missed out on something, so I turned back to chapter 2.
I also started reading Rudin Analysis, don't know where it'll take me, perhaps nowhere seeing that I have abandoned all of the other books except Spivak.
I admire people that can progress quickly

@Michael.P I don't really have much of a process - just a bad attention span, lol. For real though, I think the feeling of missing something is more of a mental thing. It's one of the reasons I take so many notes on paragraphs that don't need to be written down. To get rid of that feeling, I force myself to not write down things that I know I will remember or can easily turn back to. It's helping me build confidence in my mathematical ability.
I've started with Abstract Algebra and Set theory along with analysis. I think they complement each other well and when I finish, I might be ready for topology.

@CaptainAmerica16 titles please

@Michael.P Abstract Algebra - A First Course in Abstract Algebra: Rings, Groups, and Fields (3rd edition) by Marlow Anderson and Todd Feil
It has high readability and is an introductory text.
I'll give it a shot if Rubin disappoints me :D
Rubin or Rudin?
Rudin
Lol, I've heard of Rudin. People say it's really difficult, kudos to you for making it through XD
Courtesy of that guy ... hm
what's his name
17:58
What do you mean?
Ah, leaky nun
He mentioned it at some point nonechalantly
Luckily I was there at that point to pick it up
One man's conversation topic - other man's treasure
It's not that difficult even
I might try it after I've built a solid base.
Have you taken analysis courses and stuff in school?
Must be kidding
I go from no background at all
I come*
My school was a place to go, haven't had a book in hand for last, what, 5 years of it.
Oh, nice. Me either - well not really. I'm taking a calculus class in my high school right now, but I've never taken a proof course or anything.
Wow at your school comment.
It's a game changer, isn't it

Definitely, I've gained so much confidence in my own abilities. Everyone makes math seem impossible and "boring", but if you really pay attention it's an amazing subject.
The only problem is that life is too short to master it through and through. Especially when you didn't start of as a child prodigy
And people don't understand you if you mention it as your interest
A girl some days back commented: "how are you going to solve that — it has no numbers"
that was cute
LOL
I know what you mean though, I don't tell people I do math for fun. So they don't think I'm a weird know-it-all.
I wish I didn't have to do regular school, I never have enough time for math. I want to go to math school lol
At least you have holidays, and vacations
Yeah, I'm going to do a TON of math on my upcoming Thanksgiving break. Five whole days.
whooo
god
I miss those times
Hope you'll enjoy them
18:12
I'm just trying to make it count while it's here.
Definitely.
@CaptainAmerica16 do you perchance have a pdf?
Yeah, I'm only using PDF's right now. Which one are you interested in?
@CaptainAmerica16 Anderson and Feil — the one you suggested on Abstract Algebra
Oh, sure! Give me a second.
@Michael.P There you go.
18:28
Thanks!
No problem :)
