9:26 PM
Hey

What up

Is it omegle?
asl

A tiny joke
So where are you at?

In America.

9:28 PM
No, I mean in terms of studyin Spivak. You say you haven't started the problems yet

Inequalities.

That was the least fun part of chapter one
for me

Oh yeah? Why do you say that?

Inequalities in themselves seem kind of vague to me, especially if there were couple of them in a single equation, I just didn't know how to aproach them without feeling like I'm applying illegal move.

I definitely get what you mean. They kind of just feel like computation, doing proofs with number properties feels like I'm actually proving stuff. If you know what I mean. When I see proofs with inequalities, I kind of avoid them. Probably not a good habit.

9:38 PM
Yeah, exactly
I didn't allow myself to miss anything until recently

In regards to problems? I'm way different. I just do the ones that look fun.

Yeah. I just realized it was way too time consuming to try to reach every conclusion on my own

Well, kind of. Ted gave me some recommendations of ones that'll be important later on.
It does feel kind of bad when you can't solve a problem.

Well, I always have that nagging feeling inside: "what if one day this little problem will open a door for a grand solution, but I won't know because I never proved it"
Not as bad as when you download answerbook -_-

I didn't know the answer book was available for download. I have a feeling I'm going to need it. XD

9:41 PM
haha
You bet you will
Unless you are like Will Haunting Maxwell and Newton had a child
then you will only have to look at the back sometimes :D

Considering I burned myself multiple times trying to bake chicken today - probably not lol

Are you at Uni?

Nah, high school.

Senior?

9:44 PM
Started early, nice

I didn't how into math I was until last year. I used to hate it because of the way they teach it in school.

And what happened last year?

I was looking for some coding courses on EdX and accidentally came across one on math and philosophy. It was focusing on Godel's Incompleteness Theorems. I looked up what that was and have been hooked ever since.

On that note, I hope you're in it to stay. Sure we'll be able to do some interesting work in the future :)

Definitely :D
I have to do a bit more homework now. We can just ping each other when we want to do some work. I wish we were at the same spot, but at least you can help me understand some stuff from ch. 1 if necessary.
I won't be available from 6:00 - 10:00 pm tonight though. Don't know how useful that is considering we're probably in different times zones, lol.
