I upgraded to Debian 9 which changed MySQL 5.5 to MariaDB 10.3
All running fine except this UTF-8 thing which produce some garbage in HTML pages, which still have meta http-equiv="Content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"
I added in /etc/mysql/my.cnf
[mysqld]
character-set-server = ut...
I am having this problem in a recurrent way, in different projects, and different databases.
