I mean it got postponed to July 18th-ish first and then on repeated complaints from parents, students and teachers alike, the postponed it again to September
I was getting really exhausted from studying too much and was hoping I would get this done with by mid July so I can get started on my college decisions but it's getting delayed everytime :(
It's hard to see the usefulness of rules or "process" when we already know from previous incidences that SE does not follow them anyway. — Remember MonicaJul 4 at 4:36
What an interesting drama. The next episode is ongoing right now.
@YaakovEllis the point the OP is making is simple. Before removing any moderator the evidence supporting that decision must be solid. There must be proof of wrongdoing, or evidence of complete utter inactivity for at least six months, as an inactive mod is of no use to anyone. If the staff consulted the mod team, the CLT and the mod council and 80% agree to the "firing" then there's no need for the reinstatement process for any scenario except for the first: when a moderator leaves their position for personal reasons, health or extended inactivity. If I am mistaken, please correct me. — Mari-Lou AJul 4 at 11:43
Some @$$h013 set off a bunch of fireworks at 1 this morning, which caused my daughter to run screaming into my room, which spiked my adrenaline, which lost me at least two hours of sleep last night. So... I'm beat.
@XanderHenderson Maybe you need an early Happy Hour!
@XanderHenderson I hear you; my neighborhood is dealing with the same: no "formal firework shows" translated into lots of people buying their own loud explosives, and I'm hoping they're running out of their supplies!
@quid I hope you are not angry with me for my comments on a meta question's answer, (the question is now deleted).
@XanderHenderson I'm closer to "happy hour" than you are! :P
@Xander Ping me at your 5:00 pm, and I'll toast you!
@quid Just don't work too late, tonight, okay?? But assuming you can sleep in tomorrow, until noon or so, I won't begrudge you staying up late!
@quid I'm sorry; the post about which the meta question asked was deleted, not the meta question. Sorry for my mis-report. This is the post, in my comments below an answerer, I don't want you to be angry about.
@quid I think my comments were legit, but perhaps not best expressed on meta. But I've learned that some mods are keen on deleting any comments which challenge them. (I wish I had those powers to silence legit concerns). Okay, @quid. I see you just left, so, I guess I can assume your displeasure.
@amWhy My sister is getting into town this evening, and then I have to go pick up pizza (because I am too dead to cook today). The pizza will be done at 6:30, at which point I can start drinking.
Because I am too cheap / poor to pay $5 to have pizza delivered.
@amWhy Honestly, I don't even know. And delivery is handled by third-party "gig" workers, who are employed... er... contracted... by large companies which exploit their workers and don't pay the restaurants very well.
The guy who runs the pizza place is a real mensch; he's super frustrated about having to work with these delivery services, but he can't afford to hire delivery people, and COVID has made people paranoid about picking up their own pies. :\
@amWhy The problem is that Mike is an algebraist / category theorist, and has almost certainly never solved a differential equation in his life. :P
(I'll note that I say that not to be mean, but because his office used to be just down the hall from mine. I know his tastes reasonably well, I think.)
@XanderHenderson That may be, but Mike has been awfully critical of late, of most of math.se. I respect the guy, but he's been rather inflammatory of late.
