that's... uh, not quite what you asked
but, should help
# of votes per day of the election, by election
@Shog9 Cool. Is this just Math?
yeah
Cool.
Are the graphs somehow similar through various sites?
Also, a curious question. Has anyone, in the history of SE, been suspended while being a candidate of an on-going elections?
@AsafKaragila like, during voting?
@Shog9 Yeah.
00:12
That might've happened, but nothing comes to mind off the top of my head.
removing candidates mid-voting tends to be... awkward
@Shog9 I was just curious as to what happens in those cases.
a mess happens
ideally, we weed out folks likely to get themselves suspended before voting starts
ditto for "likely to step down"
up to the start of voting, anyone can just withdraw, no big deal. After voting starts... Gotta handle that when running the election, 'cause folks might have voted for 'em.
(STV handles it just fine, but since we limit the number of votes... It gets icky)
...I have a chat window open somewhere, and I don't know where
not this one, I mean
been open for about a week, and it's starting to bug me. I may have to close some tabs.
@Shog9 Yikes. No more vacations, eh?
@Shog9 Right. That was my guess.
00:28
@AsafKaragila Perhaps you want to volunteer as a case study? Get yourself suspended before the election ends, and lets see what happens! Maybe you'll set precedence, if you do, and it will give @Shog9 and team good experience to handle such a case, in the future!! :P
@amWhy I was actually going to thank @Shog for the vote of confidence when I was allowed to get to the voting stage... :P

@DanielFischer Pretty much sums up being a moderator right there
@Shog9 is that gnuplot
02:18
@AlexanderGruber that's SEDE: data.stackexchange.com
(but the internal version)

@Shog9 Wait. I'm confused. It shows that the first day saw over 2000 votes. At this point, two and a half days in, only about 1600 new Constituent badges were handed out. Does that someone who voted for two candidates twice (and three candidates thrice)?

5 hours later…
11:46
@AsafKaragila I guess that counts first, second, and third choice as three votes.
@DanielFischer Yeah, but not everyone cast three votes. Or even two.
@AsafKaragila That's why it doesn't quite add up to thrice the number of constituent badges, methinks.
@DanielFischer Yes. Which makes the breakdown a bit... useless.
I wouldn't go so far. Most people choose three, and the trend (vast majority of voters vote in the first two days) is clear enough.
@DanielFischer Last elections I did some analysis on that.
11:50
What were your findings?
Hmm. Let's see.
[S]pecifically, out of 2161 ballots there are 1985 ballots with at least two votes; and 1865 ballots with all three votes (it might interest someone to know that all ballots had a first choice))

Can we maybe wait out the wait to learn the results of this year's election (number of voters, etc, ... distribution of votes, etc...), on Wednesday, August 8th, 2018?
Anybody got news on the new site format? (@Shog9)
@SimplyBeautifulArt Mind. Blown.
and eyes disgusted.
I for one am not a fan of this change >.>
@SimplyBeautifulArt So... you're dropping out of the race and leaving the site?
yeah probably
/s
16:49
This is terrible.
I actually don't mind that much. Past changes were much harsher. But maybe my opinion will change in an hour or so of usage... :P
luckily I just use the web browser on my phone

Q: Mathematics new site theme is live

Joe FriendWe rolled out the new site theme for Mathematics. It is live now. What new theme? If you're like, "What the heck are you talking about?", then you should read the Meta Stack Exchange post entitled Rollout of new network site themes (and maybe the posts it links to for the full background). Y...

Okay, there's something off going on with the colors there. Everything feels so... purple. Is this a tribute to the artist formerly known as Prince?
16:58
I just finished up a big plate of pancakes, and recommend you do the same
@Shog9 I just ate scrambled eggs and fried tomato. I don't need your pancakes!
What I need is a nice cup of tea. As appropriate in Britain during times of distress.
@SimplyBeautifulArt et al Better to discuss this in the Math Meta chatroom, than here.
@SimplyBeautifulArt: amWhy is right.
17:16

@SimplyBeautifulArt I also just wish you'd use actual words and less of those odd "smileys"... :P
@SimplyBeautifulArt Yes! Just like that!

@AsafKaragila the Q&A ?
@amWhy The very same.
@AsafKaragila :P
@amWhy So that's how it's like when Simply Beautiful Art isn't here? You start pinging me? I don't mind as much. :P
