The one thing that concerns me @Emilie is your flag count, how do you feel you will be able to judge whether or not a flag should be marked as helpful?

@WELZ I don't see how the quantity of flags raised relates to quality of flags raised. Of course raising flags often puts you in front of varied situations but I don't think much platform experience is required to recognize spam, rude behavior and such.
I've been calling out students on their bad behavior for the past 10 years when needed ;-)
Very obvious spam/rude trolling etc. is usually very easy to identify, however, there are posts (very frequently) which can be hard to properly judge.
Can you name one that you felt was difficult to properly judge?
[goes through old flags]
Just to note, these extend beyond spam / rude; also NAA/VLQ etc.
I think we need to be careful with VLQ flags. If it's a new user and it's something like bad spelling or formatting, I think it's worth taking two seconds to educate them
if it's a recurring thing that's something else
I've seen some valid questions almost closed because the way they were worded made them seem low-effort or just poor-quality but if you take the time to go through the language, it's just a non-native speaker who probably gave it a decent amount of effort. I have no issues editing those when I feel I understand what the OP is asking to make sure they don't get closed for "unclear what you're asking".
Even if it's not likely that someone who is struggling hard with English will become an active user overnight, I think it gives a more welcoming vibe to the community that can benefit us in the long term.
